Isles Going Hard after Olli Jokinen

I would not be surprised if the Islanders gave him 5 million(or more) over 5 years, they have lot's of cap space

Could he/his rights possibly be put in a deal with Boumeester and our first for the Isles 4th overall?

Just saying, if Feaster is wanting to move up in the draft, this could be the breaking point of the trade.

They should look into bringing back Oleg Kvasha and Mark Parrish.

The 34 year old floater had 61 points and played all 82 games.

He floated when the Flames needed him most, which was at the end of the season when we were still in the playoff race. Still, he had a great season.

5 mil a year over 5 years? What a joke. The guy is going to be useless in less than 2 years.

Seriously?

This is you speculating, right? Nobody, I repeat nobody is giving Jokinen 5 years at $5 million. Even if Jokinen's mother was the owner of a hockey team he's still not getting that much at his age.

People are still trying to trade JayBo for the 4th overall? How many times must Islander fans say "we are not interested in this trade at all, not even a little bit"?

I think it matters a little more of what the GM and (more importantly, for the Isles at least) the Owner think.

Probably Slovakia, but I know who the Islanders could use, Bryan McCabe. They should also look into trading for Roberto Luongo and acquire Todd Bertuzzi from Detroit. Reclaim all of those players dealt during the mid to late 90s.

Feaster was reportedly shopping JayBo to possibly move up in the draft, and a team that could use him was/is the Islanders. If the Isles are interested in Jokinen, that could be the breaking point of a trade between the two teams, if we were to package him with JayBo and our first. It was just pure speculation.

Don't throw out a ridiculous number and then go "well, the owner and GM may give him that much". If Jokinen signs it'll be 2-3 years, maybe even a 1-year deal loaded with bonuses and incentive to reach the cap floor.

The Owner thinks "how can I ice the cheapest team possible". JayBo at his current contract and 5 years/$5 million per for Olli Jokinen go against literally everything Wang does as an owner. Thinking the Flames will also get the 4th overall pick, on top of that, is pure delusion.

Saw the Joke enough over the past few years, while his stats look good--he is MIA on many shifts and his stats are soft Also, 5 year deal for him would be a bad thing. He is 34 and the wheels are falling off

lol, yeah. The Islanders won't pay Parenteau, who is already at 70 points in his 2nd full year in the NHL, 4 million...

but..

Oli Jokinen will get signed for 5 million per. LOL

Islanders will make a trade for the guy they want. It ain't coming at that pricetag.

The Islanders have shown no interest in JayBo, in fact an Isles beat writer specifically said they weren't interested in JayBo because he's playing mediocre hockey on a massive contract.

Just because a Flames fan started a thread and wants a top-5 draft pick, doesn't mean the Islanders will be happy to take on JayBo's contract, especially when it goes against everything we know about Charles Wang.
