Doesn't really make sense. Anaheim should be looking for depth. Hence why McKenzie says Anaheim could be looking at 2-3 pieces for Ryan. Why would they want to trade for fewer pieces?

Sabres were 10-5 when they visited Boston on Nov. 12th in the now-famous Miller/Lucic game.

Ducks were 6-13-4 when Murray answered a reporter's question on Nov. 27th about all of his players (including Getzlaf, Perry and Ryan) being available in a trade.

The timing referenced doesn't jive with the sequence of events that took place.

So a team against the cap ceiling all season was going to take on $4m in cap space. Also, Regier isn't one to make changes when things are going well, and Buffalo was winning at the time. This doesn't check out.

Agreed on the information bout Buffalo's record going into that Boston game.
Purely speculative, but, with multiple reports of these 2 teams speaking later in the season, past Christmas, I would imagine Regier and Murray touched base on Ryan.

While I do agree with your assessment as well. There would have to of been some money shifted around here.

Ducks would get ripped. Hillers value is low cause of his health but when healthy hes just as good as Miller is maybe even bit better.

Throw in 40 goal scorer Ryan and Buffalo wins it easily. Buffalo would have to throw in a winger.

Ryan + Hiller for Stafford + Miller

Wow.

Hiller is a top 10 GK easily in this league. The difference between Hiller and Miller isn't Bobby Ryan..

But this was when Hiller had vertigo problems still. The difference between an unhealthy/bad Hiller and Miller -- who, despite people saying otherwise, was actually off to a very good start before the Lucic incident, which gave him his 2nd concussion in a matter of about 8 months -- playing well...?

Timing doesn't line up anyway. Ducks weren't talking about moving their core until late November, the Lucic hit happened early November.

Just gonna leave this here, since it's not really worth it to make another thread.

Hiller's also one line segment from something much, much, worse...

You guys are forgetting how much Regier loves to rip off people in trades.

I'm no Miller fan to say the least, but Miller is a much more rounded netminder that Hiller has ever been.
