how do you folk feel since drafting him 2 years ago ? has he surpassed or failed to meet expectations ? he must be signed yb june 1st right ? otherwise he re-enters the draft and the wild would get the 12th pick of round 2 as compensation.(thats how i understand it).
just wondering what wild fans think of him and how he has measured up so far.
Look for former Wild first-round draft pick A.J. Thelen of Savage to join the Wild's Houston Aeros affiliate today in Omaha, Neb. Thelen, who finished the regular season with the Prince Albert Raiders of the Western Hockey League, was named the team's rookie of the year and most valuable defenseman.
that was from charlie walter, yes i know its walters so who knows if its true or not...
yeah, that's going to be a big help for the Aeros, i think. My god...the defense is simply horrible. Only two bright spots currently, Murphy & Stokes. The rest of them need to take the first train out to "anywhere but here"...
AJ would be welcome with open arms - 'cept for the player who ends up sitting in the press box watching him...[it's a toss up between Scott Ferguson and Shawn Belle, in my opinion]

Do you mention Shawn Belle because he's new and still getting acclimated to the Aeros, or because he's the 7th best d-man on the roster from what you've seen?

after you folks view him in houston or hear about his play please post here. as i wonder how he will adjust. i have a season ticket to the raiders and watched thelen all year. i personally think he might play with more energy and desire but you might see him (remember i am a thelen fan and have watched him all year)
1, play soft non physical, 2,make poor decisions in his own zone.3, unleash one hell of a booming shot from the point.
i think he will look very very green out there in houston, but will look nice if given pp time.

geez....i hope not, you just described the Aeros blueline as is....they don't need anymore of that kind of "help".
...It's just frustrating watching the Aeros without Harding.
Anyway, I seriously doubt that AJ can do a worse job than half of the Dmen in Houston...so, while he may not be ready to make a big impact, I honestly can't imagine him being any more of a liability than the aforementioned Belle and/or Ferguson.
