What is nonsense is thinking we can give up our spare parts and think we can get a player like bobby Ryan. Stepan has to be included

Sens had discussions about Rick Nash. Seems like that trade won't happen, Bryan Murray told me.

Nash could have also not wanted to waive for Ottawa.

Hagelin and Anisimov. Young, cheap, contributing roster players. Very valuable. For Anaheim, a budget team, moving out $15M for about $4M - and still getting contributions from these players - is a smart move. Plus the first.

Yes...get the feeling that Dubinsky will be moved this week.

I do however think Sather make a deal

Dubinsky is coveted by a lot of teams. He's expensive, but very versatile, young, durable. Edmonton, Dallas, Buffalo, Columbus. All showing interest. He could bring back a nice couple of pieces.

NSH 1st for a rental Gaustad. Market can be crazy like that. Nashville wanted a faceoff guy, PKer. Imagine what Dubinsky could garner.

Where did I say anything about spare parts? You don't gut a position, or several positions, to upgrade one spot ob the roster. Stepan is going nowhere.

What's Hank gonna say? We need a **** load more scoring, trade Dubinsky and get Nash?

He of all people knows the team needs more scoring to support his goaltending. I highly doubt he'd be upset if Dubinsky was moved for Nash.

Canes will kick tires on Ryan, just as they did when he was available over the winter. May even be a better fit than Nash.

Rutherford doesn't want to trade anyone. He will trade the 8th pick but his top young players are off limits.

So when Ryan gets moved, and Parise signs, and the market for Nash dries up even more, he will end up in Vancouver for Chris Higgins and Sami Salo.

To me, Hagelin is the player that may get either of these deals done and given Kreider's emergence, I can see him being moved.

Some of these proposals for Ryan are just ridiculous. The guy ain't Gordie Howe.
I'd be okay with that kind of deal, and frankly, due to the low cap hit, it would make sense to me that it would be more appealing than a cap hit like Dubinsky's.
