I highly doubt he just decided to find the nearest media outlet and speak his mind. He was asked about it. Hank doesn't say no to the media, he's one of the most professional athletes in the world. So he said something. He isn't going to come out and say his offense sucks and we need to make major moves.

He did not have to use the word "tweak". He could have said it's up to the GM, he could have said depends on how the offseason goes. He used that term specifically for a reason. imo.

Why? Because the fans on HFBoards demanded Stepan? The majority of people on here are clueless to actual trade value.
Yup...I said the same thing regarding the offers for Nash. Teams historically do not get the return for star players that fans think they should. Look at what what Richards and Carter brought back last year. A package like AA/Hagelin/#1 is right on par with those returns.
AA is 23 and cheap. Productive player that can be put in all situations. Same for Dubinsky, but is more proven and tougher, although more expensive.
Both are valuable and desirable players. "Trade value" isn't determined in a vacuum. And players get undervalued because of the "NHL 12" mentality.
I would be just fine with Dubi or AA on the 3rd line. Thing is I see them getting a top 6 winger to go with Richards, Gabby, Cally, Stepan, Kreider...........so that means Hags sliding to the 3rd line, whether we like it or not Boyle C and then a RW likely Anisimov
They don't have the value as center pieces for a Rick Nash or bobby Ryan
They don't need a "centerpiece". An assortment of assets is what will be traded for one of those two players - the pieces relatively equal in their "quality".
Anisimov/McIlrath/1st for Nash. Dubinsky for a young forward. Replace McIlrath with Hagelin and give that for Ryan. Same situation with Dubinsky.
The only problem I see with this situation is if ANA decides to pull the trigger on a deal, Bobby Ryan has no say in it, so our offer has to match, or be better than everyone elses. Which in turn would raise the price.
I would assume that he'd go to the Eastern Conference because ANA won't want him in the West so I don't know if we could get away with so little.
I REALLY want him on the Rangers though. You don't even have any idea how bad.

Typical TorTrader (way before your time) type thing, man. Quantity over quality is not realistic.

We're going to lose quite a few goals through Gaborik's recovery time.
True. Hopefully, Stepan and Arty can raise their production.
What would Mueller cost? Mueller is a young dynamic player with a wicked shot coming off concussion, maybe he can be had for cheap (relatively speaking).
Start him on Brad's wing, start Thomas as the 3rd line RW to see what he can do and give him a taste, or maybe Yogan.
When Gabby returns, Mueller goes to the 3line and Thomas/Yogan to AHL.

Toronto seems like a landing spot for him. Burke would undoubtedly love to get his hands on him.
Thing is I think he overpays and ****s everyone in the Nash sweepstakes.

Anisimov and Hagelin is quality. Just not "star" quality. Also, the 1st.
It's more in line with what we actually see than the crazy **** that is thrown around. Stepan/Miller/Dubinsky/1st for Ryan? Just way too much. You won't see that if Ryan is traded.
