He made the deal, he wouldn't have to have an opinion on him to be responsible for the loss of such a gem.

Timmins clearly said that he begged them not to trade him, and Gotye still did. so AFAIC, he is responsible, he's the GM, not only the PRO player GM.

10. JVR
11. Wayne Simmonds
12. Brandon Sutter
13. Sam Gagner
14. Kyle Turris
15. Jakub Voracek
16. Carl Hagelin
17. Carl Gunnarsson
18. Brendan Smith
19. Alec Martinez
I'd slate him in at the 15th spot, but bump down Turris and stick Voracek in a #14. Don't get the big deal about Turris, to be honest.

I guess they didn't need him though,
Now McDo is just someone we use to know.

There you go.

He kept his jersey and even asked him to change his number. McDonagh doesn't need that though, so now he's just a prospect that we used to know.

Just think how much better the Habs would have been had they tanked the year before and drafted JVR instead of Pacioretty.

What a loser team, not tanking every year.

Eller will need more ice time, and if we draft Galchenyuk, he will need it also.

Although, this can wait a year as Galchenyuk might need another year in junior. But at some point, we will need to make room, and better to make room at the top, then at the bottom of the lineup. The trade deadline might be the best time to make such a trade if we find ourselves out of contention again.
I shift DD to wing and have Galchenyuk, Plekanec and Eller down the middle. Desharnais doesnt have all the tools for a #1 center, and Plekanec is the perfect #2. Eller can play the Jordan Staal role and shift to wing when needed. In my opinion you keep all three.

A line of Pacioretty, Galchenyuk and Desharnais would be awesome. Two finishers and one passer, and Gals can dish it too. Size, skill, finesse and speed. It has everything.

Subban 1 spot ahead of McDonagh.

Pacioretty sits at 8. I don't agree with it personally though. I'd definitely take him over Perron and Alzner.

And yes this may be the Habs fan in me, but when it's all said and done, I think Patches may end up having a better career than Couture. That's just me though.
Perron ahead of Pacioretty is a huge head scratcher. 30 out of 30 GM's would take Pacioretty ahead of Perron in terms of value.

I would switch Perron for Pac and Subban for Mcdo. Other than that, the list is really good.

DD doesn't have the tool to be a winger. He's too small, so he won't be able to win battles for the puck.

Nice to see Perron in front, that's who I wanted. Plus Alzner, but that was a pipe dream.

I like the point you're making, but I'm just unusually high on Eller. I think he has ridiculous potential and it's not like it's untapped so far. I honestly wouldn't swap Eller for any of these guys if we're talking long term. I do, however wish AK was back on his line with Moen.

I think he could be a very good winger. He's actually pretty good at winning puck battles.

DD is pretty good at winning battles, but is doing rather well as a C, so why change him...?

Well, I think DD can use his tool-set more effectively from the wing, with relaxed defensive responsibilities. He could be a real thorn in someone's side if he were playing with a big center, and a shooting winger.

Man, if Karlsson got 6.5 million from Ottawa, what's PK gonna get from Montreal? Calisse!

I'm sensing a 2012-13 avatar theme candidate...

Just think of all the player's we've traded away/let walk for nothing.

The draft is far from a crap shoot, some head scouts consistently pull gems out of the late rounds and I for one think it's because they evaluate soft skills better than most, skills that people don't "learn" late in life.

Looking at this list, I have faith in TT, especially after this draft since he's going to focus on one thing only instead of having to wear way too many hats.

And if/when he does get us another 2007 performance, lets hope our GM doesn't ruin it again.

These next two drafts could be Trevor's Magnum Opus, and kick start our franchise's drive for the elusive 25.

A lot less. Karlsson had a tremendous season that Subban can only dream of at this point.

Imho Subban should get 4.5 on a shorter term deal (Karlsson's is 7 (!) years)

Really? I'd take #10-15 over Eller. And think about Smith. I know we get some nice flashes from Eller, but realistically, he hasn't delivered with any kind of consistency. Some of which is very understandable given his utilization. But he still hasn't done anything more than those other guys, bottom line.
