no reason whatsoever to move Dubinsky for anything less than an upgrade, and even then he's in there for cap reasons as well. The player easily gets 55 points next season. He's not Chris Higgins.

Fistric and pick 43 for gagner

?

hard hitting defensman and good 2nd round pick. Fist has a good mean streak and his very strong. very good for a young team like the oilers. Id miss him in dallas if we lose him.

Gagner had the 91st best points per minute played in the NHL for forwards last year, got his face off's up near 50% while having a high ankle sprain to start the season.

Very underrated on here by people who don't think he's a legit top 6 forward.

I could see the Rangers making a deal revolving around the #13 pick and then flipping that pick as part of a package for one of the big name wingers on the market.

Doubt Edmonton does it with the 43rd, let alone you moving it back.

While I don't disagree with Gagner being dangled for an upgrade on defence, our depth at the centre position would leave us with Shawn Horcoff as our #2. I see the Oilers coveting Dubinsky as he adds a big frame and a good 2-way game to a number of young offensive-minded forwards. He'd fit right in.

As for the Rangers eyeing Eriksson, I'd imagine a big name would be headed to Dallas on top of Dubinsky heading to Edmonton just to even out value of Eriksson in that particular deal. It isn't unreasonable, but it's quite unlikely that he'd be available at all.

He's not, and it'd probably start with Stepan+++. He's not going anywhere.

Dallas is looking for a center to come in and play with guys like Eriksson; why would they trade him to get that guy?

Better question, why would we trade him and still not get that guy?

To get Eriksson we would have to offer Stepan + Del Zotto (signed) and possibly + 1st/Dubinsky.

For Benn same package basically, maybe a prospect too. It would cost alot to obtain these players.

I wouldn't do Dubinsky for Ryder to be honest. Dubinsky had a down year, sure, but he's 26 and definitely capable of scoring 20-30 goals per season. Ryder had a few down years himself, and is 32. He got maybe 1 or 2 good seasons left in him. I don't see what the Stars got that the Rangers would want for Dubinsky, value wise.
