There is just so much to do here. You have the best food in the world, the best entertainment in the world, the best weather in the world. I sat out by the pool already today, but I'm still waiting for that call from Gary Roberts asking me if I did my workout for the day -- I'll have to get that in this afternoon.

What does it take to get Campbell to Tampa? By far my favorite player outside of the Lightning. Winning the Lady Byng too? hot damn.

Stamkos gets two first place votes for NHL All-Star . . . . as a right wing #HUH?

Stamkos was named second team All-Star center, though, behind Malkin

The Richard trophy is much more boss than the Hart IMO.

From Stammers blog
Quote:
Let me be totally honest -- I had no clue about that "Dancing With the Stars" bit. Cheryl Burke was doing a scene beside me and I saw the teleprompter, saw my name, and I was like, 'Oh no, I might have to get up here.' My face probably turned a couple of shades of red, but at least I didn't drop her.

She made me dip her -- at least that's what I think they call the move in dancing -- and I was on a little bit of an incline there, so I was a little worried, but I didn't drop her. Man, if I did, I probably would have gotten sued by "Dancing With the Stars." Who knows? Thankfully, I didn't. That definitely caught me off guard.

More details on Hitchcock dedicating his Jack Adams Award to Wayne Fleming:

Quote:
"I wouldn't be here without my friends," Hitchcock said while holding his trophy. "I'm dedicating this to Wayne Fleming, who's coaching the battle of his life right now. This is for you, Flemmer."

"Anybody who's grown up in western Canada, he's meant the world to us as a mentor, as a coach," Hitchcock said two days later at the draft at the Consol Energy Center. "When you see a guy like that who is struggling and you know how much coaching means to him and how we're intertwined, I just felt it was appropriate to say something." (...)

"It's a tough go for him right now," Hitchcock said. "I knew he was watching, and I just felt like I owed it to him."
