I havenīt seen him play in Q but he was pretty bad at Hlinka Cup and entirely awful at World U18 champs, I would be shocked if he is selected. But anything could happen on Saturday.
Considering itīs weak year, chance for players in second or third year of eligibility is slightly higher. So there is chance for guys like Machovsky, Pavelka, Nosek.
Only Faksa, Hertl, Frk and Hyka are sure thing.
I hope for Langhamer, Plutnar and Nosek being picked up.

I think Volek may be drafted, but he won't go until the 6th or 7th round. I heard before he was slotted for the 3rd-4th round, but I can't see him going that high now.

Knot has good potencial and played really well before championship against Canada but he looked mentally soft at champs.
I donīt know what to think about Volek, next season itīs his fourth country and fourth league within 4 years. I donīt like it.

This is abit off topic but I'm noticing smaller Czech players in the u-16 ranks etc than their Western counterparts. What is the average height in Czech Republic and Slovakia ?

no idea. I've heard only, that our kids become mature, longer time than world average. But It was mentally, now I reminded.
Having two quality first round picks is really a step in the right direction regardless of how many players were taken later. Both Faksa and Hertl could be quality top 6 players in the NHL and they represent far more value than a whole bunch of 6th or 7th rounders so I'd say this is probably the best draft for the Czechs in years.

yeah, youre probably right. it was fun to have some firstrounders finally + so far it looks like there could a firstrounder too in 2013.

If I counted right than 19 teams including Maple Leafs as Peter Ihnacak is based in Germany but spends much more time in Czech than in Germany(at least scouting).
Plus Robert Kron(Carolina) and Frank Musil(Edmonton) live in N.A. but travel to Europe(including Czech and Slovakia) to scout European prospects.

Right now, Iīm not very optimistic regarding 2013. Outside of Kostalek who in the best case scenario could be first round pick I donīt see any other "sure" picks. Iīm not as high on Kubalik as some other people though he is decent prospect. Than there is Martin Kohout who is hard-driving winger with size, competitiveness and decent skills. D David Nemecek and scoring winger Dominik Pokorny could be at least worth of watching. Undersized, highly skilled forward Miroslav Indrak is my sleeper pick, liked him in limited viewing last season.
