Yuk. A well known PoS. I mean he's been on many teams but he's a complete *********.

Renowned for his prodigious training regimen and work ethic, Moreau nonetheless turned off some fans with his what was perceived as an attitude of entitlement, and was derisively referred to as “thecaptainethanmoreau” around the Oilogosphere.

who cares what he is, as long as he can judge NHL talent in the west. I can't understand why people, especially fans, care what these guys are like. It seems fans want players to be nice guys for some reason, as if that makes them a better player/coach/scout/manager etc.

A complete ********* might be effective in judging talent, as he'd be critical.

Sounds like he might miss certain players as well.

He might have been a ********* but he was still captain at one point and it certainly wasn't for his hockey skills à la Modano.

He's probably friends with Bergevin though.

I find it suprising that a "well known PoS" who wasn't friends with anyone once won the King Clancy trophy for leadership both on and off the ice...

exactly...all of these hirings, scouts, assistant coaches, etc have been totally over-analyzed by fans

not really uncommon for former players to transition from player to scouting...and furthermore, a former player's playing style usually has very little to do with how they scout

Why do you find him to be so offensive?

Cheap and tends to sulk. The fact that he was captain is a sad joke. He's one of those players that I just cannot stand.

Dude, get over yourself. You make it seem as if he killed someone.

He was actually quite effective in his time. Maybe you should take a deep breath and remember that he's only a part-time pro scout.

You are aware that Koivu was pretty cheap as well, right? Were those years that he spent as captain difficult for you?
