Not suprised at all by that result, media members(the voters) were absolutely in love with Landeskog's season 2 months before the year even ended.

Wow. Oh well, you cant miss 20 games and expect to win. At least Katz doesnt have to pay him that Calder bonus.

Not surprised Nuge lost. All three finalists had amazing rookie season so I don't mind that Lando won. Congrats yo him. RNH will be winning other hardware soon enough.

They probably fell asleep after watching Maple Leafs games.

I don't think anyone would tell you that Hemsky had a good season when he put up 22 points in 22 games.

However, having a bad season does not make him a bad player. Especially if the reason for that bad season is injury.

Most of them probably saw him play maybe once or twice at best, especially the older media guys who are less inclined to stay up late and watch western conference games.

Hence most of the Landeskog praise was in the form of random stats "shots, did you see that overtime goal he scored in the highlights? rookie of the year right there!" etc.

I knew RNH wasn't going to win, but I'm certainly surprised how one-sided the voting was... lol. wtf.

Its the right choice, IMO.

I could understand pro-rating RNH's totals had he only missed a handful of games...but...when you start getting up around 20-ish+ missed games...that's a big gap to fudge into a body of work.

Ask any Flames fan about the Hart voting the year Iginla lost to Theodore and you'll see how silly the voting can be.

Meh, I'm glad it was lopsided. Goes to show how out to lunch they are. Nuge never had a chance. It'll light a fire under his belly for next year.

I don't think you need to "fudge" anything. He tied the kid in a quarter fewer games. Clearly he was playing better hockey, at least offensive hockey, and not by a small degree.

Really, I think the best argument for Landeskog is that ridiculous plus-minus.

Agreed. I'm in the minority and i'll probably get flamed but i think that Landeskog deserved it, he had a huge impact on that team especially in the second half of the season.
Who cares anyway? RNH will be the better player before long.

No. He didn't tie him. Lanedskog wins the rookie scoring race by virtue of scoring more goals. It has always been this way.

And like I said before...I believe in giving full credit to the player(s) playing more GP's.

Its a statistical accomplishment...to play a full season...for ANY player...not just rookies.
