I forgot he was under NHL contract last season, but I'd guess it means Shaver is wrong; I guess someone could ask Shaver for clarification.

Found this explanation on the trade board
http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/sh...&postcount=162

Anyway, I asked Shaver to clarify this on tweet

By the way, Rockford re-signed Svendsen

Yes, if the info. is true, that's the way it would have had to work. Sign the AHL deal first, then the NHL deal. I couldn't recall what happened to the AHL contract if a player signs an NHL contract for shorter term than the AHL one, but given same organization, this all makes sense.

I don't know for sure, but I'll bet it was a two year AHL contract.

It's a two years contract

http://www.oursportscentral.com/serv...es/?id=4426805

So Cote decided to follow his teammates rather than staying in Norfolk!

He'll be interesting to see what Norfolk will do with Langelier-Parent and Devos. They were originally signed by Norfolk (probably under the recommendations of Tampa). Guy Boucher probably had a say in those signings because Langelier-Parent played for McGill (a team that Boucher coached) and Devos was the top scorer of the QMJHL in 2010-2011. However, now they belong to Anaheim's new affiliate, so maybe Stevie Y or Julien Brisebois will try to bring these two to Norfolk.

Another interesting info : Philip-Michael Devos will attend Tampa Bay's camp rookie according to this link http://www.sorel-tracyexpress.ca/Spo...os-champion!/1 (in french). So it seems like he is still part of the extended family of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

That same twitter account seems to be under the belief that players on AHL deals with Norfolk are transferred to Syracuse.

If there were any players under AHL contracts in the first season of multiple deals they would still be Norfolk property. Jason at the AHL tweeted that under his personal account a few days ago...he specifically mentioned Darren Haydar, who had a two-year AHL deal with the Chicago Wolves. Played one year with ATL affiliate, one with VAN.

Chicago re-signed Mark Matheson
http://www.chicagowolves.com/release...ck-in-the-fold

Portland signed Maxime Villemaire
http://www.journalexpress.ca/Sports/...e-Villemaire/1

Very detailed article in french. Basically says that the Flyers we are also interested in acquiring Villemaire, they invited him to their development camp but Phoenix had a better offer. It's a two-way contract. He'll win 50,000$ in the AHL and 25,000$ in the ECHL

Philip-Michael Devos and Maxime Langelier-Parent will move to Syracuse, Tampa Bay's new AHL affiliate.
http://boltprospects.com/content/bol...velopment-camp

Quote:
62 Philip-Michael Devos, Forward (Norfolk AHL)
Devos was signed to a 2-year AHL contract last year and was part of the AHL champion Norfolk squad that is considered one of the greatest AHL teams of all time. Devos is set to play in Syracuse with the Lightning’s AHL affiliate next year. Devos had seven goals and 24 points in 52 games for Norfolk.

48 Maxime Langelier-Parent, Forward (McGill, Canadian University Hockey)
Langelier-Parent, a fellow McGill alum of Lightning coaches Guy Boucher and Martin Raymond, guided his school to the CIS championship last year. The 6’2” forward had 12 goals and 18 points with McGill. He has been signed to an AHL agreement by the Lightning will play in either AHL Syracuse or ECHL Florida.

Matt Climie of the Chicago Wolves had a 2 year deal with the Wolves. Canucks picked up the 1st year so this year he is on a AHL contract unless the Canucks or some other team signs him

We've discussed it on page 1. I'll wait for another confirmation before adding him. It's a bizarre contract, probably the first time I've seen this.

Also I added Jason King to the list. He re-signed with St.John's today.
http://stjohnsicecaps.com/article/ic...th-jason-king/

I removed from the list Dov Grumet-Morris who signed with the Florida Panthers

I think you have confirmation since it was commented on by the Chicago Wolves PR guy. I'd add it, put an asterisk or something after his name.

Alright, I'll add it as confirmed

It's also confirmed in this article
http://www.chicagowolves.com/multime...ndsey-willhite

His success presents a bit of a dilemma for the Wolves. Climie has a two-way contract with Vancouver this season, but a one-way deal with the Wolves next year. That means he’ll return to Chicago in 2012-13 unless he gets a one-way deal with an NHL team.
Also a few players that had AHL contracts last year were signed today :

Jonathan Audy-Marchessault From Connecticut to Columbus
Scott Ford From Milwaukee to St.Louis
Jon Landry From Bridgeport to NYI
Ben Street From Wilkes-Barres to Calgary
Bryan Lerg From Wilkes-Barres to Colorado
Jon Rheault From Abbotsford to Florida

Hershey signed 4 players
TAFFE, DiSALVATORE, BERRY, OLEKSY BOLSTER 2012-2013 ROSTER
http://www.hersheybears.com/news/det...ex.php&id=3849

Houston signed M.Brodeur. Mike that is
https://twitter.com/Houston_Aeros/st...75297410023426

Abbotsford signs Zach McKelvie
http://www.abbotsfordheat.com/ViewAr...CLID=205500211

------
While veterans like Taffe and DiSalvatore didn't signed a two-way NHL/AHL contract. They probably were offered a lot of $$$ by Hershey, anyway. Other AHLers are upgrading their AHL contract to a NHL contract :

Antoine Roussel From Chicago Wolves to Dallas
Brandon DeFazio From Wilkes-Barres to NYI
Geoff Walker From Wilkes-Barres to Colorado (reportedly)

-----
-King's contract with St.John's is a 2 years deal

-Interesting fact : Hershey leads the AHL with 11 players signed followed by Chicago, St. John's and Syracuse who have 3 players under contract. 11 teams still haven't announced any signatures for next season.

-Toronto (Marlies or Maple Leafs?) are rumored to have signed Dylan Yeo.

The Flyers and the Phantoms announced the signing five players on Tuesday.

Defensemen Danny Syvret and Cullen Eddy will return on two-way contracts with the Flyers, while defenseman Zack FitzGerald and forward Garrett Roe signed AHL contracts.

Nice addition for the Crunch: Jared Nightingale, a big, physical righty shot defenseman. Will help lead and protect prospects.
