San Jose Sharks 2012 draft preview

 

After a late playoff run to the Western Conference finals in 2011, the 2011-12 NHL season has to be considered a failure for the San Jose Sharks organization. Headed into the 2011-12 season with Stanley Cup aspirations, team fell to the middle of the pack and struggled to make the playoffs.



Just days after the San Jose Sharks lost their opening round NHL playoff series to the St. Louis Blues in five games, the ownership group declared their full confidence that General Manager, Doug Wilson can make the necessary changes over the off-season to better the club for the 2012-13 season.… read more

Though I don't think this org is avoiding drafting European players, just Russians. I have a feeling they'll draft a player from North America - if they keep the pick.

I 2nd this. Colberg is indeed going to be the best winger available around #17.

However, that being said. We may need to trade up to Ottawa's spot.

Not all players drafted as centers stay at center in the NHL. So I wouldnt worry about that detail
