Realistically, a deal for Nash is probably going to look something like this:

Dubinsky, Del Zotto, Thomas, and a 1st.

If that can't get it done, then there is no point of even trying to bring him in the fold. Stepan is pretty much out of the question, because losing him would kill us down the middle. I actually feel Del Zotto could end up being a better player than Stepan, but you got to give to get.

Losing Del Zotto would hurt(and I would rather give up Girardi) but there are short term and long term options to fill that spot.

I would be ok with that only as long as I knew we were getting Schultz

Nashs agent scheduled a meeting in person with the Jackets GM today..I really wouldnt be surprised if he lets him know that Nash will refuse to report to camp if he is not traded.

He will probably keep it between him so his trade value isnt completely shot, but it will get push him to get traded fast.

Nash doesn't want this to drag on, he wants to get traded and he wants to move and set up a life in a new area during the offseason.

The contract still concerns me, but push comes to shove, and I think you have to make that deal. You get a stud now for pieces that are ultimately replaceable short term, and long term...

Ultimately I think Erixon and MDZ will be repetitive anyway. I don't believe either is a future PP QB...

That's an unsubstantiated rumor. Nash is on a cruise with Richards all this week.

Make no mistake, MDZ will be a PP QB in this league, and probably a damn good one. Erixon might, but unlikely imo.

Erixon is more of a catalyst type of player on a PP, not really a playmaker as I see it.

Competative teams do NOT move their top pairing defenseman who is coming off an All Star season... Oh yea, he's also pretty much the only right handed defenseman on the roster...

agreed. look at the Kings, they have a great goalie, a very solid defense, and they just made one move (carter) without depleting their roster and they won the cup. Rangers could do the same.

Marleau or Nash or Ryan

If all three are indeed available, asking similar return... Who best fits this team?

Bobby Ryan is still my top choice.

Nash is the best player, Ryan is the best bang for your buck(but he also could bust, remember his numbers are from playing with Getzlaf-when he wasn't he didn't look nearly as good).

Marleau is a good option, but getting a little up there in age, and I am not sure what it would take to get him.

I think he'll be a damn good 2nd pairing d-man, but I disagree on that front. I like him a lot, but I believe he's more replaceable than say a Stepan considering the strength of the prospect pool in that area, and the reasonably priced Free Agents that could be brought in short term...

Haven't been on since yesterday evening.

So Patrick Kane is not available?

Gm, coach and Kane himself I believe all denied it. I know for sure the GM did.

Del Zotto is definitely more replaceable than Stepan for us. he just doesn't fit with what the Jackets or Ducks need. Maybe we can move him to get something else columbus or anaheim likes? hmmm.

Parise is the best choice. despite the cap hit (how much more would it be than Nash's?) he does everything this team needs, we lose nothing from the core, we get the goal scorer we need for only cash. thats the perfect scenario though unlikely.

We will agree to disagree on this. I will agree that losing Stepan would hurt more considering we don't have as much organizational strength at center.

Never trust what front office says to media

But I do believe he wont be traded ,, You dont dump kids for partying in offseason and having a poor year at 23

You guys think Anisimov could be moved for a pick or prospect?

Would like to see him on Hawks centering a line of Sharp/Hossa

I think he has 60 pt potential
