That is not true at all. Ryan doesn't spend all of his time with Getzlaf. Boudreau moved him to his natural position on the third line after the trade deadline and he went on to lead the team in scoring. He then went off to play with the US and led the team with 5 goals in 8 games. Ryan has his problems, but needing an elite center to score goals isn't one of them.

If Anisimov had 60 pt potential (which I think he might), why on earth would we trade him for a prospect or pick?

Marleau is a good option, but getting a little up there in age, and I am not sure what it would take to get him.
Ryan doesnt play with Getzlaf for the most part.

He still spent 50.8% of his ES ice with Getzlaf and 47.3% with Perry

Maybe Hawks send a prospect (D Dylan Olsen - 2009 1st) or young NHL roster player (Kruger or Stalberg)

Rangers can then flip him as part of package for Nash or Ryan maybe

or we could send AA directly to Columbus? They want to sorta win now and rebuild on the fly...they want NHL roster players...thats what AA is...

Bowman really like Morin and well Shaw became instant fan fav here in Chicago and brings grit/pest ability that has been lacking since Burish/Eager were lost in cap hell of 2010

id also like to point out that Getzlaf had a miserable year last year. so saying he played with Getzlaf is like saying someone plays with Gomez....ok not quite that bad but u know what i mean.

Problem is (And I am sure a great majority of Jacket fans would agree) that the Jackets GM is a moron

Who knows what the hell he thinks he is doing

I expect he is gonna blow the Nash deal no matter what team he moves him too

No, but that's still the majority of the season. More than Boyle played with Prust.

edit: just realized your a Ducks fan so that comparison likely isn't all that meaningful...

Olsen isn't of much use to us unless he's adept at playing the right side, and even then, trading AA for a depth d-man is sort of counter-intuitive.

Can I name the next offseason thread?

Scott Howson is a moron

No, it really isn't the majority of the season. 50% of ice time is just a ratio of minutes played, not how many games he played on that line.

Why would games be a better indicator than minutes?

The Blue Jackets have shown much patience in making a Nash trade, turning down offers that weren't to their liking at the NHL trade deadline in February. GM Scott Howson continues to insist that he'll wait as long as it takes to get the right return for Nash, even if it means going beyond the start of free agency on July 1, and even if it means Nash remains a Blue Jacket heading into next season.
Quote:
Friday's first round creates an interesting dynamic, too. Clubs planning to include a first-round draft pick in their offers for Nash -- clubs who can't get the deal done with players and prospects alone -- have less than 30 hours now to make it happen. If a deal isn't done Friday, the chances increase dramatically that the deal won't get done until after free agency starts, until a club that doesn't get Zach Parise becomes desperate to land Nash.

This has been the Blue Jackets' plan for months now -- wait it out until the offer is to their liking, however long that takes.

Howson is such a clown.

I'm sure Johansen and Galchenyuk/Forsberg are jumping for joy over this example of how they take care of their stars. Throw you under the bus and make a media spectacle of it all.
