flames interested in Jagr

Says george johnson of the herald. Why? why? Flames need to stop going after aging players. But apparently they want to reunite Jagr with Cervanka.

Maybe the 1st rounder they draft or some other prospects they have. Anyways, I don't see Jagr signing with them.

Jagr will sign with the team that ponies up the most money - plain and simple. As Calgary will have cap space, especially if they move Bouwmeester, expect them to offer Jagr for 1 year for ~ $3.5M to get the best out of Cervenka.

Nice to George keeping up as this has been the topic of choice on Calgary sports radio since Monday.

I'm pretty sure Jagr wants to play for a contender.

I see it with Cervanka being there. Jagr have said in the past that he would like to play in a Canadian city. I've always assumed he meant Montreal.

I don't want Jagr in Montreal at all... Maybe 10 years ago, but not now.

He's good friends with Cervanka. The year the Oilers were rumored to be after Jagr, Hemsky was pushing the Oilers to sing Cervanka.

Pencilling in Baertschi into a top 6 position might be a bit of a stretch. He will definitely be on the team in some capacity this year though.

As long as Jagr is not acquired on anything more than a 1 year deal, it woudl be great for the Flames, especially if it helps Cervenka transfer to the NHL.

This was mentioned on TSN, I think this reporter is just going by what Dreger(I think) said.
