If they trade away Nash they get worse, no way they deal next years first.

The rumor wouldn't exist if he were Swedish (or Canadian or American) because it wouldn't quite as easy to change his birth records.

The facts are:

-He's from a remote part of Russia where things like that are possible
-He has a family member (I think it's his mom but I'm not 100%) that works in the department that handles those sorts of things

Not saying he actually is 20, but it is possibility for him unlike most other prospects just because of the circumstances.

We're trading the pick. If not... Lindholm.

Just not sure which round.

My biggest criticism of this draft team (and mucklers) is how few goalies they picked. Pick a goalie every year, eventually your scouts well find a gem.

Completely agree. So many great goalies come out of the late rounds.

Absolutely.

You can regularly mine NHL-quality goalies in the 5th-7th rounds if you pick one every year or two, in the late rounds, if you're prepared to wait for them to mature. Especially if you pick euro goalies: you can just leave them in Europe to develop at their own pace. So many "surprise" late round goalies find success because they're not at all rushed, and are allowed to play 5 years on their own, away from the NHL parent club, and aren't pressured to be saviors (IMO, at least). Much more upside picking a goalie with a 6th-7th rounder than a skater.

Seriously, why not take a chance in the later rounds on drafting a Lundqvist or a Rinne? Most players in the late rounds rarely make the NHL at all

Although it's hilarious that Nashville used our pick in 08 on Chet Pickard while we drafted Karlsson dude's in the echl

I'll be there, potentially the only other person in a Sens jersey besides who we pick. Thinking about making a sign if I have time...possibly "don't miss the boat Murray!" or something of that nature. Then again, I'm in the group hoping Columbus gets our pick,
So we'll see.

You need to make a sign about Karlsson. Something trolling the guys that didn't think he should've won the Norris.

Please no more Swedes. If a defenseman we like isn't available at #15 we could do a whole lot worse than picking Tom Wilson. He could turn out to be the power forward we've always dreamed about.

We should pull some NHL12 move and package up all of our draft picks and select Dumba, but have one left over to draft a goalie, haha. That'd be so cash!

Cowen - Karlsson
Weirddick - Dumba
Boro - Claesson
Gryba

I'm actually of the mindset that I'd rather take a skater with a decent chance of being a NHLer down the road as opposed to just taking a goalie just for the sake of takign a goalie. For example, we've got guys like Derek Grant, Mark Borowiecki, and Andre Petersson already playing in the AHL and are legit prospects likely to play in the NHL somewhere down the road. Those are assets. Assets can be used to acquire a goalie like we did with Bishop. Its just too difficult to evaluate most goalies at age 18 and the draft is too much of a crapshoot when it comes to that position. Plus, there are always so many good FA goalies that there's just not much of a point. You could completely ignore goalies on your draft board for a decade and still have good depth on your roster (Anderson, Bishop) in goal with just average pro scouting.

Interesting things about last years draft series:
-Not one player shown in the interviews were drafted by the Sens.
-Mark McNeil was given a second interview, I think he would've been drafted with the 21st pick if he wasn't taken by Chicago.
-I think we should've drafted Ty Rattie.
-We were so lucky to get Shane Prince.
