No, it's just there's a few people who are very vocal about wanting him.
Hehe. I know. Haven't voiced my opinion on the matter yet. I can already feel heat from SSM coming at me and I don't even think he is here atm.

I think we're going to have to move up a few spots to get to Thrower. Same for Wilson. Laughton might be around though. Personally I think there's going to be 5 or more guys all ranking about the same--hard to choose from unless you go in with the idea we're taking a goalie or something like that. Trading down is a mousy thing to do but even so.

Caps might not pass on Laughton. Dale Hunter loves the kid, he'll put in a good word, plus Mcphee probably sees some of himself from his playing days in SL.
I'm not too excited about what I've read on him. Though at #28 what can you expect.
Z Phillips
C Coyle(26 Kuznetsov, 37 Faulk)
V Tikhonov(27 Carlson)
D Olsen
N Foligno
M Niskanen(29 Downie, 33 Neal)
M Fistric(26 Schneider, 29 Green)
C Perry
Some of the #28 picks in the 1st round with some notables being picked around #28.

Thanks for the list. We should definitely pick best player available and see what happens. I still don't think it's Kerdiles but all I have to go by are a couple draft guides so what do I know. As always, in Gordie/Gorton I trust.
I've been bouncing around on who I like, but, the idea of a center with size and upside like Jankowski, followed by another player like Hart in the 2nd round, with boom potential, makes me feel funny in the right way.
that would be awesome but not sure hart will be around at our 2nd pick...might a deal to get another pick earlier in the 2nd
I agree. I'm generally not a fan of goalies in the top-end of the draft, but if you like a guy, you should take him. We're going to have to develop an heir to the King sooner rather than later. We all hope he'll play into his late 30's, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Given the unpredictability of the late-first round and beyond, I think taking a goalie at 28 is justified.
Oddly enough, if word gets out that Jersey wants a goalie at #29, then perhaps the option to trade back will arise. Edmonton, Columbus, and Toronto all could be looking at a goalie, so perhaps they'd be willing to jump ahead of Jersey and get their choice of Subban, Dansk or Vasilevski. #31 and #45 from the Jackets for #28? Then again, expecting Slats & Co. to break tradition at the draft seems like a pipe dream.
#31 and #45 would be beautiful, in my opinion. Carolina and Dallas have extra picks in the second as well.
Speaking of extra picks. If the rangers get a few, do you guys have some thoughts on these guys in the 3r round: Valeri Vasiyev, Mikko Vainonen, Esa Lindell, Dillon Founrier, and Calle Andersson. Thanks

There's a thread on the prospects board of Nikolai Prokhorkin. Looks like a big, skilled, nasty Russian winger. Wouldn't mind that..
Nicolai Prokhorkin -3rd. Big and skilled. Plays both sides of the puck. Will even drop the mitts. If he comes over, he would be a great pick in the 3rd.
Yes, I mentioned him earlier as one of my good picks for the 3rd round.

He should be a riser. The Russian thing will scare people but I can see him make the 2nd.
FYI: I've officially passed the 2012 draft duties on to our good friend the great moderator formerly known (and always known to me) as Brian Boyle.
I won't be around for the draft this year. This'll be the first time in probably almost a decade that I haven't done the draft for y'all. Hope we get someone good!
Brian Boyle will make me proud.

I'll be out of town this weekend on an island an hour off the coast of Maine, so just wanted to say have fun all, hope we get some players. Of course my vacation just happened to land on draft weekend, no way around it.
Some 2nd round and later names I'd be interested in seeing: Mack Maceachem, Josh Anderson, James Melindy, Dylan Blujus, Jujhar Khaira, Dan O'Regan, Samuel Fejes, Alex Gonye, Theodor Blueger, Mikko Vainonen, Esa Lindell, Nik Tikkinen, Vyacheslav Osnovin, Evgeni Krutikov, Pascal Zerressen, Gustav Rydahl.
