Where is Dreger talking so I can listen?

Edit: but since CBJ is pricing every team out of the Nash sweepstakes Ryan immediately moves to the forefront.

Jordan hasn't gotten over 50 points in any season of his career. We can get that production for far cheaper in Stepan.

I would give Jordan 4-4.5 tops. He's earning fair value now as it is.
You'd offer Jordan Staal Dubinsky money...?

I don't see what his ice time has to do with him scoring on different lines. Just what are you implying?

I'd say it's closer to Dubinsky currently making Staal money.

No, Staal is being paid fair value in my opinion. Dubinsky is overpaid.

10 years 60 mil is a huge speculative deal for a guy who is great defensively but is not a reliable 1st line center.

Would you give Jere Lethinen a 10 year 60 million deal is his prime? Staal isn't Rod Brind'Amour.

I'm really happy we have been connected to Ryan by a legit insider. I hope we land him and not Nash. Son't get me wrong, I'd love Nash but not for what CBJ wants.

Cause people don't understand that there is more to a player than cap hit and name.

Ryan won't fit into our system as well as some think he will. He disappears often. He'll have more offensive talent than we're used to but defensively he has a lot of adjusting to do. He takes shifts off and rarely back checks.

Nash fits into our system perfectly and adds potentially 50 goals.

Ryan will have to work a lot harder to fit into our system and adds potentially 40 goals.

What more could Ryan cost? Stepan, Dubinsky, Del Zotto, Staal, Miller and our first? I annot imagine that. Nash as Plan A makes no sense to me.

It is dumb.

I don't see the major advantage of Nash over Ryan.

Ryan has the same 30+ goal production, a significantly smaller cap hit and is 3 years younger.

Ryan should be our #1 priority. Younger and fits into the financial setup of the team much more comfortably than Nash. I doubt it's price that makes Nash our "plan A", considering Howson apparently hasn't come close to dealing Nash and it seems that Sather/Howson have stagnated in their talks regarding Nash, as Howson wont let go of trying for Kreider.

Could just be price in terms of what you are giving up.

I agree that Dubinsky is overpayed, but no 24 year old UFA 2nd line center is signing for 4-4.5...

Agreed.

Nash is probably our plan A because he's already requested a trade and been actively shopped. Anaheim is just seeing what is out there.

As for Staal, I would love to sign him...for around $5M per. Anything more is pushing it completely. I really am shocked he turned down the 10 ye deal, ESPECIALLY since it was $60M per. I kind of admire that actually. He could have been set for life and not had to worry about the lockout, but he really wants to be "the guy" on whatever team he goes to. It's pretty stupid to turn it down, but admiral le at the same time.

My guess Ryan will cost a prospect, roster player, pick.

Probably more since Ana isn't actively shopping him and will have to be blown away to pull the trigger.

He is NOT Staal quality. Dubinsky also wasn't a 24 year old UFA.

Right, or it could be what I said above.

I still don't understand what Howson wants.
