Will Horcoff do the honorable thing and relinquish his #10 to Yakupov?

We'll be drafting the coming of a Superstar tomorrow nite, likely the next Great One! Should Nail be offered to wear his #10? He defenitely should, but will Horcoff show any class? No IMHO

Probably not. Horcoff still thinks he is the face of the Oilers. Hey might as well give him number 99.

how the **** is it the Honorable thing?

Why should a 15 year VET give anything to a rookie who has not done a thing

The hatred on this board for Horcoff is a joke and so are posters who ALWAYS find ways to bash a player who has done EVERYTHING this time has asked him to do. We get--MANY POSTERS HATE HIS CONTRACT

How is it honerable for a vet to give an unproven rookie his number? it would add pressure to the kid

I don't see how that is the honourable thing to do.

It's actually really dumb to expect him to do it.

1.We should wait until we have picked him.
2. I don't think he will he's been with the team for a long time and I'm not sure he should

I'm not a Horcoff fan but he shouldn't have to give up his number to a rookie.

What he did in that 2006 run alone assures him of having no.10 for as long as he's in Oiler silks.

That's not much of a humble opinion, thread starter.

A veteran captain should never, EVER be asked to relinquish his number.

I suggest 12 or...27?

Nail's worn no. 21 before.

I think that'd be a much cooler number than 10.

Name a vet who gave his number up for a rookie who has never played a single professional hockey game? I don't care if the vet is Cory Cross, that **** doesnt happen

There's nothing honourable about it. Yakupov can have some other number.

he is playing the tough minutes untill the kids are ready for prime time--the kids are developing and over the years we have seen the oilers rush too many kids and it ruined them. Hall and Eberle should be ready to start carying this team this coming season and then Nuge in 13/14--we need to give the kids proper time to develop and tossing Horoff into the situation now and easing the kids in is a good move. People think the kids will come in a be world beaters--it takes time

Let's hope the NHL does the honorable thing and sanctions some new symbol that can be used like a number just for Nail. I'm leaning toward the Batman symbol.

Yeah. That's the ticket.

Yeah this is one of the lows for the "treatment" of Horcoff on these boards. I'm still hopeful he's bought out (or fingers double crossed traded), but if he's hear in September he won't, and I won't expect him to give up his number. He's the ****ing team Captain.

Yeah well him playing the tough minutes has lead us out of the Playoffs and to the basement in the League and you can't justify how brutal he has been last 2 seasons tough minutes or not.

Come to think of it your right, that 1 yr of his playing carrerr was all it took to assure the hockey Gods in Edmonton that he UNTOCHABLE for the rest of his playing days in Edmonton

You still haven't explained why he's obligated to give up his number.

Because this rookie will likely have more points than this VET in his first season, by playing at least half the minutes than this VET on the PP

My god... Are you *** kidding me!? Whatever happened to earning what you get? This sense of entitlement that fans are breeding is a joke. He is a rookie! Would you really want a guy on your team that would take a veterans number? Guaranteed Yakupov would also find this thread ridiculous.
