You're much more in tune with the draf then I am, is there any way the rangers could move up to try and snag grigs near the 15th spot?

I wonder what TB or WSH would want for those picks.

He will not fall that hard.

TB wants roster players. Maybe dangle AA to them.

You don't think he'll still be on the board mid teens like NHL tonight had him slated?

If it was AA to get grigs I'd do it. Thanks

Nope. I think people who want him are leaking negative info out there to scare teams off. **** happens all the time.

It'd be AA + something small, I think, to get to 15.

Tampa Bay is dangling their 1st round pick, # 19, Detroit's pick.

https://twitter.com/MAGodin/status/215950681117437952

Supposedly they are looking for a defenseman.

How about Anton Stralman and Christian Thomas for the #19? (I think Michael Sauer holds more value than Stralman for this trade, but obviously he is injured). Stralman was our #4 D this year and Steve Thomas, Christian's dad, is Tampa's head of player development.

All this is contingent on Mikhail Grigorenko being available at 19.

What's funny about moving Anisimov for a first round pick? He and something else should bring back a mid first round pick. Alone he could probably bring back a very early 2nd rounder (35 or so) or a bottom end 1st rounder.

I'd prefer to hold onto Anisimov. He was pretty much a blue chip prospect at one point and has done ok so far in his career. His size and skill should generate more interest. I think he'd be a good piece in a package for a star player.

If Grigorenko actually falls, you move Anisimov for him in a flash. It's not even a hesitation.

This.

Or if Kerdiles is still around after the top 3 are picked you DEFINTELY move up to get him.

Anisimov is a nice complimentary piece, Grigs has Malkin-lite potential.

If he truly has Malkin-lite potential, then why would he fall?

Grigorenko is no Malkin. The only similarities are that they're both Russian and tall centers.

I don't know much about the kid but Tom Wilson is getting a lot of press...being compared to Lucic which I think is a bit over board just based on his fights which is all I can really go by at this point.

I assume the Rangers have seen plenty of him to know if they really have interest or not....does anyone have any insight as to how good this kid can be?

If this team got Grigs, then some how added Schultz and Ryan I'd say that's one hell of a start to the off season.

May be something like Anisimov, Thomas, and the Rangers second to Tampa for the 19th, 40th, and 53rd(Tampa has the option for this pick from Florida), if Grigs was somehow available.

Rangers would have the 19th (Grigs), 28th (say Wilson), 40th (A lot if mocks have Kerdles going around here), and 53rd (Hopefully Hart/most mocks I've seen have him going in tbe late second).

That would be a hell of a draft.

Also TSN's mock had Grigs going 17th. To the Sharks.

From the tiny amount I've seen of Grigorenko, his skillset looks similar to Toews'. Offensively, at least.

He's not as nasty as Lucid, and he doesn't have the cockiness, but he is a better skater and probably more talented overall. He needs to work on his consistency in offensive production and in his physical play. When he is skating, hitting everything, he can be very tough to contain. He played very well in the playoffs after struggling throughout the season.

This kid is my desired pick as well. Doubt he falls that far, though. No way Philly passes on him, IMO.

I think it's unlikely Grigorenko could fall that far. Lots of talk on main board about Leafs taking him at #5

id love Wilson Matteau or Sutter as the Rangers first round pick since they have good bloodlines....imagine if the Flyers Pens or Devils drafts Matteau....that would be odd...especially if it is the Devils........if someone falls to 28 that is a different story...

Trade down
Get Maceachern/Zharkov/Lundberg (who plays for my brothers organisation and is great sleeper!,), Dansk/Subban and Kerdiles/Frk/Bozon in the second round
Draft wisely in 3rd and 4 th rounds taking chances
Flip a pick to the 2013 draft if there is someone we like
Call it a day...

I love Arty and think he's an important part of the team (Jon knows this ) but if we could get Grigorenko and it only takes AA, I really have to think about it. Grigorenko is gonna be good.

Gut feeling is Grigorenko will not fall out of the top 10.
