I could see him being traded to Philly or Ottawa, unfortunately.

OEL hasn't necessarily made Yandle "redundant" but he, along with Gormley, Rundblad, Summers, Stone, Goncharov, etc. make it very easy to assume the Coyotes could be looking to add to a position of weakness by giving up a valuable piece at a position of strength, which is their young, yet very good defense. Phoenix will be looking for NHL forwards, ideally young players; centers would be preferable. Couturier or Read intrigue me if the Flyers are calling. I'm not sure if Zibanejad gets it done from the Ottawa point-of-view. There would have to be more added.

Yandle won't be dealt for solely picks/prospects, although a 1st will be enticing in a package for him. He gets traded if there are NHL forwards or NHL-ready forward prospects coming back in return.

It makes sense. The Yotes already have OEL to be their #1, Gormely and Rundblad should both be top 4 soon enough. They have Klesla as a solid vet. Schlemko, Stone and Summers are very solid young players, in fact before his injury Schlemko was playing with Klesla on the shutdown pairing. They could certainly use a top scoring forward in return, especially if Whitney and Doan don't resign. Both are said to be hesitant to commit if the team isn't staying. I think a deal around Yandle+ for Yakupov makes sense, i would not want the Oilers to trade the 1st straight up for him. Yandle is very good and had a career year the year before last but he isn't worth a 1st overall by himself IMO no matter how many times people on HF ridiculously call him "just a prospect".

I did add from an Ottawa POV.

I doubt Yandle gets traded for futures, probably a hockey trade for forwards.

I'd trade Hamilton for Yandle.

For Yandle one for one, start thinking Tyler.

I don't see the Flyers moving Couturier. They are in love with his size and defensive ability that it gives them down the middle.

Hypothetically, would Clowe, Vlasic, Wingels, 1st get it done?

Oh man, I'm instantly in love with this happening from an Ottawa standpoint. I'll prepare for heartbreak now.

Stastny is a good center but isn't a number one center. Trading Duchene makes the avs weak. I don't think Ryan O'Reilly will develop into one either. They will be good 2nd line centers who can step up in a first line role for injuries. But should never be the go to guys. Duchene will bounce back and have a good season next year. Especially with the emergence and maturity of Landeskog.

Gagner for Yandle. The Oilers draft Yaks. Draft Vasilevski with the 2nd pick, assuming they keep the 32nd pick. Sign Schultz and Wideman come 01 July.
