Keith Yandle is available, and a deal may be close
Just an observation, but it appears the league/media value Yandle more than the Yotes fanbase/coaching staff. This OEL has surpassed him talk is very premature. He's a legit #1/Norris candidate that is young and on a great contract. He will demand a ton in return.
just schenn or just couturier will not get it done for yandle and your crazy if you think that. Possibly I could see Schenn/Couturier + Matt Reed + 1st
ehh not happening. change hags to stepan and take away the 2nd and ya might have something. I still wouldn't do it though from an NYR POV, i'd rather keep mdz and stepan
lol yeah i was 2nd guessing myself ... i just want someone who can hit the net from the pointn the pp .... is that to much to ask
Stastny is a good center but isn't a number one center. Trading Duchene makes the avs weak. I don't think Ryan O'Reilly will develop into one either. They will be good 2nd line centers who can step up in a first line role for injuries. But should never be the go to guys. Duchene will bounce back and have a good season next year. Especially with the emergence and maturity of Landeskog.
I'm perfectly fine going into next year with Stastny and O'Reilly as our top 2 centres if it means Yandle and EJ are a pairing.
Don't think Omark is the + they would be interrested in.
Something around the 1stOA + MPS for Yandle +
Yandle is a proven young # 1 D-man.Players like him just don't grow on trees.
I've watched a lot of the Coyotes and Yandle is no Pronger AINEC. Yandle is being overrated on here. He's comparable to a Kimmo Timmonen in ability, not Pronger, get real.
Actually i have. Very good defenseman. But i doubt he commands that much. Schenn+Read. Yes maybe. I don't even think he gets that. But a first as well? No. Flyers are too high on Couturier. Gives them size that they desperately need down the middle. So his value is automatically higher.
As an Oiler fan i think your fellow Sens fan is right, way too much.
Perhaps, but the Sens are in a position where they have a huge stockpile of prospects, so while it hurts to lose Zibanejad, we still have Silfverberg, Stone, Puempel, Noesen, Prince etc. What we lack - badly- are elite young D-men past Cowen and Karlsson, so my thinking was we give up the main piece - Zibanejad - plus the 15th overall where we'd be drafting a D-man we would pray would be half as good as Yandle, while Foligno was the incentive for Phoenix to take our deal instead of an Eastern Conference rivals.
Then our D is set for the next decade IMO. Cowen, Karlsson, Yandle are pretty much as good a young top 3 as can be imagine (again, IMO).

Paajarvi is going to be the type of player who I think Phoenix already has a lot of. They should be looking for higher offensive ceilings in a move like this, in my opinion.
Phoenix may have a lot of upcoming/young defensemen but only OEL is at Yandle's level. No one will come close to what he is. They really should keep him even if they desperately need forward depth.
I made my post without seeing your initial offer. Tried to post quick before the thread got too long and clustered.
I'd say Zibanejad and the 1st are going to be a good starting point, but the question the Coyotes have to ask if how NHL-ready is Zibanejad? He has a little more than a handful of GP in the NHL and Phoenix needs someone that is ready to play now. Foligno is not a bad piece. Wiercioch isn't needed IMO. I understand he's having difficulty cracking the Senators' roster and I feel he'd have the same problem in Phoenix. I think if he's moved it'd be to a team wanting to shore up on defense prospects. I just don't think Phoenix needs any more defense prospects at this time.
