Pittsburgh/Carolina/Anaheim

Ok, this is my first time trying one of these so if it's terrible, forgive me...

To Pittsburgh:
Bobby Ryan
Brandon Sutter
Justin Faulk
UFA Rights to Bryan Allen

To Carolina:
Jordan Staal
Paul Martin
Anaheim's 2012 3rd Round Pick

To Anaheim:
Carolina's 2012 1st Round Pick (8th Overall)
Pittsburgh's 2013 1st Round Pick
Beau Bennett
Tyler Kennedy

I based this off the initial rumors between Car. and Pitt. (Staal and Martin for Faulk, Sutter, and 8th overall). I'm not quite sure if early draft picks and prospects is what Anaheim is looking for, but I tried to avoid sending a lot of salary their way. (Bennett's also a Southern Cali kid for what it's worth) I also made it so Pittsburgh still had a first round pick since that's where the draft is. Like I said, this is my first time trying one of these so I apologize if I'm way off here.

So Carolina gives up Faulk, 8th overall, Brandon Sutter and the rights to Bryan Allen for Jordan Staal, Paul Martin and a 3rd round pick?

Yeah, I don't think so. Kind of confused why the Canes and Ducks feel like doing such a big favour to the Pens?

That was making my head hurt.

That wouldn't happen.

Ducks really don't get a good deal here. Pittsburgh sure gets away nicely.

Anaheim gets hosed.

Carolina gets screwed.

And Pittsburgh cleans up.

I thought you wanted futures for money reasons? I'm confused. You're not going to find too many players on better contracts with Ryan's skill level.

The Ducks are a budget team maybe that is where the confusion lies. They certainly can afford Ryan's contract, I think they are looking to see what kind of NHL depth they can add by dealing Ryan. Hope that clarifies things.

Anaheim gets absolutely destroyed. This may be the worst proposal I've seen in a long time.

Just a little bit

Like I said, I wasn't sure what Anaheim was looking for so I though I'd throw it out there.. That being said, I still wouldn't mind seeing what Staal and Martin could get us from Carolina. The Sutter, Faulk and 8th overall certainly sounds intriguing especially since Staal regected the Pens offer.

So Pitts gives up Staal and gets back Ryan, Sutter AND Faulk?

And the best asset Anaheim gets for Ryan is the 8th overall

Horrible, just horrible

Sutter and Faulk and #8 are not on the Table per JR.

If you add in the untouchables: E. Staal, Ward, Gleason, Ruutu, LaRose, and Skinner.

Its really not going happen.

We aren't looking for players that are outside of the NHL, i.e. draft picks or prospects that still need time in the lower levels. We have plenty of that. Schenn for instance is in the NHL, and not a 'future'.

How about this:

To Pit:
Bobby Ryan

To Car:
Jordan Staal
22nd Overall (from Pit)

To Ana:
Sutter
McBain
Rights to Bryan Allen
8th Overall (from Car)

The Ducks get bent over. Not a chance Ryan is moved for a 35 point winger and futures.

The Ducks are a bit of a mystery to me. What would the accept from Carolina for Bobby Ryan? Or is there some mix of Carolina & Pittsburgh players that would work?

A signed Staal would be a starting point. But it's obvious Staal is either going to test free agency or land in Carolina.

Well yeah, that would make it easy for Pittsburgh if they could just send him straight to Anaheim, but this is a 3-way proposal we're talking about with Staal going to Carolina. So is there a combination from Carolina or Carolina+Pittsburgh that Anaheim would go for for Bobby Ryan?

Pittsburgh board is right here. More appropriate place for Penguins fantasy deals.

OP think about it this way, who is better? Staal or Ryan. Now if its Staal in ur opinion then by how much? Not much most likely.

Now if Staal + Martin is worth Faulk + Sutter + 8th overall pick, shouldn't Ryan's value be similar?
2nd Carolina fans have said McBain not Faulk. They aren't willing to give up Faulk

Great deal. Bryan Allen sucks as a scrapper, but the Pens would clean house!
