Anyway back on topic. I personally would think long and hard about a Duchene for Yandle trade.
Defense is always worth more than forwards. Every manager will tell you that. But it's a good start for the Avs if they'd be interested in Yandle.

why wouldn't Edmonton offer one of Eberle, Hall, or RNH for Yandle? They could pick up Yak and wouldn't have to wait for their D to catch up to their offense.

I have an idea:

To Bos:
Yandle
Ray Whitney's rights

To Phoenix:
Krejci
3rd round pick

Fair? I know it's not great, but it's a start and makes sense IMO.

Wouldn't be surprised if Oilers trade Yakupov for Yandle.

Man, I ****ing wish I would think that the B's would at least need to add their 1st from this draft so that Phoenix can hopefully get one of Koekkoek/Finn/Sjkei etc to help their defensive organizational depth. I could see adding Boychuk maybe.

It may not be exactly fair, but Whitney isn't guaranteed to resign with the Coyotes so that piece of the trade doesn't make it overwhelmingly lopsided. I honestly think the B's need a big winger more and are fine on defense, so if they're moving DK I think we'd need a winger back.

Long story short, Philly needs a stud defenseman, PHX needs young talented forwards. Schenn+ for Yandle?

Sorry if this has been discussed, I know I'm late to the party.
Phoenix wanted OEL. This is well documented by the Art of Scouting book. They were scared when LA played a joke on them by indicating they were going to take OEL at 5.

I agree though. I see this as more of a play with Philli for one of schenn or couturier plus jvr for yandle and Phoenix's 1st type deal.

It only gets better if we throw in Corvo's rights!

With Rundblad and Gormley knocking on the door, and almost no pure talent up front, it at least makes sense to look at it.

Yandle to NYI for #4?

Burke was pissed off that the Kings took Schenn, he wanted him badly.

I'd be more inclined to do #4 + Nino + Grabner. Is it feasible or is Strome a must?

I can see where you're coming from, but I think this adresses needs that both teams have had for a while. Krejci is the playmaking the coyotes have always wanted, and Yandle is the puck-moving offensive defenseman the Bruins have always wanted.

As stated earlier in this thread, the coyotes have a good group of puck-moving defensemen coming up through the pipeline (Gormley, Rundblad, OEL), but not a lot of good core centers. Bruins have the exact opposite situation, with good centers (Knight, Spooner, Seguin) and no puck-moving defensemen.

While I do think Yandle has a little more value than krejci, I thnik a 3rd rounder is little too much, while a 5th is too little (Bruins don't have a 4th). Ray Whitney's (who is a UFA on July 1) would even out the deal nicely.

btw, whitney would fit in just fine on the second line next to Bergeron and Marchand. It would be like Recchi never left.

Setoguchi/Clutterbuck don't have enough trade value to land Yandle. Besides the Wild are saving their cap to go after both Suter and Parise

Not sure Strome would be a must but to get Yandle, it's going to cost a ton and the #4, Nino and Grabner is a nice package. I dont put a lot into Nino's season last year. I think he was terribly handled and never should've been in the NHL. I'd be surprised if most managers wouldnt have the same opinion.
