Backup goalies for Boston and Nashville

Who will be the backup goalies for Bruins and Predators heading into next year?

I'm assuming Khudobin for Boston, not sure about Nashville.

I think Gustavsson is worth a look for the Predators.

Nasville will either sign a veteran for cheap or Jeremy Smith will be the backup depending on his play at training camp.

Gustavsson may surprise a lot of people too bad it didn't work out for him here in Toronto

Do you think Gustavsson will ever be good as Jonas Hiller?

probably not, but he can play a decent back up role, I have a feeling he'll sign somewhere in the western conference

Definitely Khudobin for the B's, haven't heard anything regarding the Preds.

I would assume Helberg has a chance as well, but, yeah, at this point I think it's Smith's job to lose.

I think Gustavsson could be a good option for the Predators, as could a guy like Scott Clemmensen.

Karlsson is most likely done in Calgary and could be solid for 15 games a year in Nashville he would be extremely cheap to trade for as well.

Poile said Smith and Hellberg are longshots, most likely they split the starts in Milwaukee.

I'm thinking Chris Mason is about to find himself back in Nashville.

Yeah, I think Nashville might go back with an old G, either Mason or give Dekanich a try out.

And I think Khudobin gets his fair shot to backup for the B's.

Mason loved Nashville and Trotz, Nashville and Trotz loved Mason. He was traded because he was making starter money and had lost the job to Dan Ellis. He's since been around the block, kind of learned that he's better suited to be a high-level backup...just seems to make a lot of sense.

Al Montoya would really be a nice backup to have for both. If he didn't get screwed over by the Isles goalie carousel and getting run by Evander Kane I'm not so sure Nabokov would've locked down the starters job.

I think the ever lasting journey man goalie will be in Nashville. Biron. Just have a feeling about it. Leighton wouldn't be a bad option for a backup ether. I'd imagine one of the two of them end up there.

Ellis, Mason, and Leighton are all for preds on the market. I bet we get one of them, probably Mason.

I bet Mason returns to the Preds.

I want him to stay (as does he), but he said he feels like he can still be a 1B goalie, something he can't be in Winnipeg.

But he can in Nashville, where they have a much better goalie than the Jets? Rinne started 70 games last year...

Khudobin can actually battle Rask for the starting position.

I don't think it matter for Nashville; Rinne has shown that he can take the entire workload of the season and playoffs without much fuss.

Roloson as backup for Bruins?

Would have suggested Nashville too, but they clearly don't want him or he would have been part of the Lindback deal.

IMO he could be a good vet back-up, once you take him away from our goalie coach and take some of the pressure off he could still be a force in goal!
