They'll probably raise it before the game. Probably before the doors open.

Doesn't matter whether it's just timing or not.

The fact that they're raising the banner in front of Torts and the Rags faces after they got Henrique'd is the Ultimate Troll-Job, however unintentional it is.

They'll put a banner up, but I doubt they'll have a ceremony for it.

The Devils will have a simultaneous ceremony celebrating the conference championship and their 31st season in the league. They will also be retiring the numbers 15 for Langs and MacLean and 19 for Shanahan. During all of this the Stanley Cup will be in attendance as well.

I'll be at the Buffalo games again this year.

Probably make it down to the home opener again this year and stay for the Rangers game too.

Might head to Washington too, but the last time I saw the Devils play Washington was the 7-1 or 8-1 game last year. I forget what it was. Awful.

Keep me posted on any possible group trips CJ because I'll be interested going away somewhere.

Team policy is to only raise cup banners.

Opening Night 2012 will have a spotlight on the ECC banner, nothing else.

That is how it should be. The league should take note.

If the Rangers won they would probably have it raised out of Messiers colon

My guess is the 2012 EC Champions banner will already be up before our first home preseason game.

it'll definitely be up and there won't be any kind of ceremony, just maybe a recognition

as it should be

Why does the season start so late this year?

They should replay Henrique's goal during TV timeouts to get the crowd hyped up when they play the Rags.

I still get a huge smile on my face when watching that.

Maybe they wanted to avoid the Columbus Day games of attendance death. Or, give themselves a few days' more wiggle room in case of labor complications.

Does any team raise any banners publicly besides the Stanley Cup or retirements?

For the division banners they just shine a light on it during the home opener and acknowledge it once they announce the whole team onto the ice

I wouldn't imagine it will be different for the ECF banner, nor should it be

I'm glad it wasn't some monotone bore or someone who doesn't get the history of the organization. The only problem with Steve is he hasn't been able to rein Chico in yet the way Doc could Chico does have his good moments though, like when he channeled Doc after Game 7 saying 'had them all the way'.

That's not what I meant lol, I was more referring to when Chico goes off on goofy tangents, Doc could sorta gently nudge him back to reality, while Steve just sorta lets him keep rambling

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they are pushing it back a week to give it time to work out a new CBA without losing any games?

I loved all the in game videos and things they did at games this past postseason. Keep up the good work.

I wonder what the chances are the Rangers have a ceremony and raise the division banner. Would absolutely love it if they did.

Who's the play-by-play guy for the Blues? He's my favorite. Best hockey voice out there not named Emrick.

I still love listening to Bob Cole, but I feel like his tone would wear on me over an entire season. It was truly a treat listening to some of his calls from our big playoff games though.

Jeanneret is awesome. Whenever the Sabres win a home game, I make sure to check out the highlights.

Amen, Stego has to be the worst in the game. I mean I really HATE the Rangers play by play, what with Homer Joe being himself, but he isn't so bad during neutral games as we say during the playoffs.

I could NEVER see Stego being tolerable...EVER!!!

OO OO I hope the Rags have fireworks too at their division banner raising ceremony!!! And more of the balloons to toss around too
