Pittsburgh wants what Anaheim's got.

Carolina wants what Pittsburgh's got.

But does Anaheim want anything from Carolina? Or even Carolina & Pittsburgh (besides Staal)?

It's not the best fit, but not unworkable. I suspect it would depend on whether Carolina would rather have Staal or Ryan.

Pretty sure Carolina wants Staal more.

That's a tough one. JR probably wants Staal more, but the fact that Ryan's signed for a couple years longer than Staal at a price that will likely be cheaper than Staal's re-signing might tilt it Ryan's way.

Plus, Ryan would look great beside Eric. It'd likely come down to what Anaheim and Pittsburgh would ask for their respective players.

Isn't Carolina amongst the bidders for Nash? If they are, I'm sure they'll be interested in Ryan.

I can't speak for the organization, but as a fan, I would rather JR move similar assets for Ryan as opposed to Staal, if the opportunity presented itself. A natural, legit top-line winger with a RHS and a great contract fills Carolina's needs better than a good to potentially great two-way 2C that's inline for a monster contract extension. I think the plan is for both Staals to play on the same line, if the Canes do happen to acquire Jordan, but I question how well it will work out with one not playing his natural position. Plus, the possibility of getting Jordan for free or a pick next summer exists.

For the sake of conversation, what would the Ducks want from the Canes to make a Ryan trade happen? I offered up Sutter, McBain, 2013 1st and 2012 2nd for Ryan when he was speculated/rumored to be on the block last year. That desk-chair GM offer still stands.

Cool, so the Ducks get hosed.

I sometimes wonder if the people who make these proposals actually take into consideration what other teams need/want. I'm guessing not.

I based this off the initial rumors between Car. and Pitt. (Staal and Martin for Faulk, Sutter, and 8th overall). I'm not quite sure if early draft picks and prospects is what Anaheim is looking for, but I tried to avoid sending a lot of salary their way. (Bennett's also a Southern Cali kid for what it's worth) I also made it so Pittsburgh still had a first round pick since that's where the draft is. Like I said, this is my first time trying one of these so I apologize if I'm way off here.
Pittsburgh makes out like bandits. Anaheim ends up sad.

I'm not going to try to haggle a price, but from the sound of things, our owners will only approve Ryan's trade if it's a knock out offer. With that said, who knows what they think a knock out offer is, but I think Carolina is in a better position to give us that than Pittsburgh is.

Good proposal. I would do that from Pens POV obviously, but IMHO, Ducks get good package. Exactly what the asking price is.

Centerman - player who is not as good as Ryan but is good forward
Young D-man
Top 10 pick

and everything is less than Ryan's salary..

Basically Canes get everything what they wanted, or what the asking price is.

Since this is your first proposal: Sry brother, but this is so bad for the Ducks, we might have to re-locate and fire our entire management after pulling such a deal.

It's rare to come across a proposal on here that I like for the Pens, this one I accept for the Pens without even blinking.

Yup, sounds like pretty fair value.

As for the OP, the Ducks part is brutal.
