I'm all for the current regime's practice of trading multiple lower round picks to select more guys in the 1st and 2nd rounds. Quality over quantity seems like a good practice.

You don't think teams are worried about Grigs?

While Cherepanov wasn't in NA, it still played a factor on why he went to being a top 5-10 pick to bottom 10.

Could trade with St. Louis. They don't seem to mind taking Russians either.

Really? From where? I know we got a 3rd for Shep and gave one up for Powe...

No, I don't think teams are worried that Grigorenko will keel over dead during the middle of a hockey game.

I believe we have 9 picks. 6 of our 7 picks (missing the 3rd we traded for Powe) as well as NJ 3rd, SJS 3rd, and NYR 7th (Christensen conditional was satisfied).

My bad, forgot about the Powe trade. That gives us less than I had initially thought. We should be sitting at 9 because of the 3rd from the Zidlicky trade and the 3rd from the Sheppard trade. Still, that's 9 additional picks for the 2013 draft.

If we trade back, I hope we pick Zemgus Girgensons.

Buffalo might part with 12 + 21 (maybe swap seconds if we pressure them) for him.

I'm fully comfortable with two mid round picks because of players like Collberg and Koekkoek. They're players I'd love us to draft, but not as high as we're picking.
