I'm thinking we lose to the Kings and then win 4 in a row.

Not if the Rangers are playing too

On the brightside most teams lose their opening home game after raising the banner so there's that.

The home schedule is a ******* ****ing joke.

Only one Friday game, and it's not until March.
And only three Saturday games, and two of those are early games -- 12pm and 1pm.

Maybe it's a good thing the Garden is screwing up my season tickets.

weekend games at the garden are terrible. atmosphere is always dead. Agreed on the friday nights, but they usually only have 2-3 friday night games a year since I have had tickets (1998).

Always? Didn't realize they opened in Boston last year or Chicago the year before. Or, Detroit in 2008 or Anaheim the year prior.

What I can recall, this will be the 2nd time in quite a while.

I agree. I have been to Montreal for a game twice. The second being the game they blew the 5-0 lead. Plan this year is Boston in February, Montreal in March, Toronto in April. Possibly Carolina in March. Last season my plans got derailed between spending money on Giants trips to the Green Bay play-off game and Super Bowl, but this year going to book earlier.

Good.

Let our guys get a good look. It'll motivate them even more.

No home games in October. Start the season on an 8 game road trip.

We play in the toughest division in hockey.

People think this team isn't good, they can go **** them selves.

For those complaining about opening against the Kings and having to see their banner. Before 2009 when they opened with the Pens, the last time they were the defending champs home openers was 71-72 against Montreal.

I went to a Sharks game last November when I went to San Fran for the Niners-Giants game. Saw them play the Coyotes. Building was dead, nothing around the arena, if you have to skip San Jose, don't be too upst about it. I would just spend the extra night in Vegas.

understandable. There is a train that runs from San Fran to the arena, but it is about an hour and a half ride each way.

Hi all,
A little unrelated but I'm looking for a bit of help.

I'm an Australian who is traveling to New York (Manhattan in the West Village) between September 23rd and October 4th and wanted to catch an NHL game. Sadly i will miss the start of the 2012-13 season but i want to see a pre-season game but I'm not sure how the schduale works. I am a Rangers fan and all i can see is a game Vs Devils in Albany but that is a bit to far to travel for me. It is likely for more games to be announced?

My back-up plan would be to see Islanders Vs Devils on Oct 2nd in Brooklyn.
Also having never been to a live game where would people think the best area to get seats? I was thinking centre ice to be able to see both ends but i'm just guessing.

Hopefully someone can help.
Thanks.

I love the fact that we're opening in LA to see them raise their banner. This year's team was SO close, closer than any other Ranger team in the past 15 years. Next year's team will use the experiences from this playoff run, as well as the sting of defeat in the conference finals and come back hungrier than ever. Watching LA raise their banner with the Cup in the house will only be another fire under their *****. I can only imagine what Torts will say before that game. F-bombs aside, it should be something like, "This can be you next year if you bust your ***** and play the game the right way."

Rangers in 2013.
