A little off topic here, but where does Kane fit in next year? I was reading that Chicago may use him as their 2nd line C.

What do the Caps have that they'd be willing to move? Dallas needs younger top six, preferably centers. Does Washington have something like that available?

He'll be our 2C if we don't have anyone else. But he (and Sharp for that matter) is better at wing.

I would love it if the Stars could get Schenn instead of Franson... not sure if leafs would do it

So you are flipping Grabo to the wing?

From what I can remember, Ott is pretty solid on the draw...like 54% solid.

Thanks for the update. It was just something I thought I had come across at one point during the season. NBD

Dallas is big on quantity of picks .. if NY was willing to throw in a 4th or 5th I'm sure Dallas would do it.

Honestly though ... they'd probably give up the 3rd and not blink. Dubinsky seems like the type of guy they covet.

How about the 16th overall, Cody Eakin, and Matheiu Perrault?

EDM

Linus Omark
2012 4th Rounder

DAL

Steve Ott

Pest for pest swap, one with more potential and cheaper. Plus I heard Ott's getting on Goligoski's and others nerves in the dressing room.

Never going to happen. Dallas easily could have picked up more at the trade deadline, but they want legitimate roster players for him. That's not Omark.

I think the trade I frameworked earlier is a good starting point - Schenn can be subbed in for Franson, but then more details would have to be tweaked.

As a big Leafs fan - I would so a deal with Schenn and Ott & Ribiero being the centre pieces. Just add some picks - prospect swaps and of course keeping cap in mind, a deal could surely be worked out. Plus, Ott is a Windsor area buy, and that brings him only 3.5 hrs from home. Although, he is married to a Dallas area girl if I recall hearing that correctly. Not that that should be a major factor at this stage of his career - I am pretty sure he spends a good portion of his off season back here in Essex County.

He would bring so much to the Leafs - and I think they were showing interest at the deadline too.

Could a deal be worked around something like this:
to Tor - Ott, Ribiero, 13th overall
to Dal - 5th overall, Franson, Bozak (or Kadri), Armstrong/Komisarek/Connolly (got to take some salary back)

Do it NOW.

You're getting a shot at Reinhart, Galchenyuk, Teravainen, or maybe Forsberg. That's a pretty big gap to the forwards at 13, and I'd argue Reinhart has better potential than Ceci (who may not even make it to 13).
Reilly is who I'm looking at at #5, unless Galchenyuk or Forsberg is there.

Regardless,

Reilly >> Ceci
Galchenyuk >>> Grigensons/Gaunce
Forsberg >>> Collberg

That's a trade we have to make. Bozak can fill in as a top 6 center temporarily until we find a better option, unless he meshes well and actually produces.

Maybe I'm just drooling at a chance to get one of those three, but still. That's pretty damn good value for those two, and gives us what we've been lacking - a true bluechip prospect.

For some reason Winnipeg fans seem to think Enstrom's value is world's higher than Ribs'.

Regardless, we don't have much of a need for Enstrom and probably wouldn't make that trade.

Burmistrov, however, is a guy we'd probably covet (but I can never tell with GMJN and Russians). Would Ribs + 13th be enough, or would we have to add?

So what would Dallas have to add to get Schenn instead of Franson?

Hell, I'd take two of LACK and add #61 if we can upgrade Franson to Schenn.

I'd take Armstrong and Lombardi! We'd have a third line!

Would prefer Kadri in that deal and yes I would be happy with this.

More "Russian" factor talk? Anisimov is clearly the better player and is a legit center. Based on the stated goal of the organization our GM would be an idiot to choose Boyle over Anisimov if given the choice.
