Pens Won't Rule Out Moving Orpik

Per Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune

Quote:
Also, hearing ‪#pens‬ not shopping him, but would not rule out moving Orpik in addition to Martin, Michalek ‪#NHLdraft2012‬
https://twitter.com/RobRossi_Trib/st...15011922677761

This goes against everything we've been hearing before about Orpik being basically untouchable. He would help a lot of teams looking for some nastiness along the blueline.

Rossi is garbage. I would regard everything he has to say as equal to Eklund. Having said that, I wouldn't be overly surprised to see Orpik moved.

Probably a forward (winger) who could help them now. Doubt they'd be interested in a player who may not help for a few years.

I've had a gut feeling this offseason that Orpik would be one of the guys to go. Hope not, we need some physicality on the back-end from a full-time NHLer...

3.75 for 2 more years

i imagine the price would be pretty high, not really sure tho. hes a leader on the team, figured Martin or Z would go b4 him.

So Pittsburgh wants to trade half their defense?

Gotta agree with the poster who knows something about this guy, seems like complete bunk, just trying to get some reads for his article.

He's the only thing resembling nasty that can play top minutes for the Pens. Rossi is garbage and I seriously doubt Shero would move him, save for a vast overpayment.

We need more guys like Brooks, not less.

Edit: For the Penguins, I would disregard any news by "reporters" unless it's Molinari. Or maybe Yohe. Maybe.

The Penguins need his grit, I don't see him getting traded unless it is part of a blockbuster deal.

Palmieri + 36th OV? Kyle is NHL ready, on ECL and would probably produce big time with Crosby.

I think Orpik could easily fetch a mid to late 1st rounder.

As unlikely as it is, I could see Orpik moved if we're going after a big fish. He's not a fit with Michalek and his play recently isn't exactly top pairing worthy.

I could see major changes happening to this team.

JVR/Orpik deal makes all kinds of sense.

But makes no sense at the same time
