I'd probably do that.

Precisely. He's one of the few Pitt d-men that is physically difficult to play against. We need more like him, not fewer.

Why would they trade Orpik?

Rob Rossi shouldn't be taken seriously.

But, if he is being moved, what would people offer?

He's a shell of his former self. Don't let others fool you. I think he's highly overrated; most Penguins fans will think otherwise, though.

One of the 3 veterans has to go to clear room for the younger D-Men coming up through the system. Orpik is the lesser of the 3 evils (Martin, Michalek and himself) because he's the cheapest and brings much needed physicality. All of them are coming off down seasons. I haven't noticed a drop in talent. It just seemed like a perfect storm of multiple D-Men all having a weird off year at the same time and 2 of them almost always had to play together and it wasn't pretty at times.

Martin is the most expensive and most redundant. I'd give him up for relatively cheap. I'd ask for a lot for Michalek and I'd ask even more for Orpik.

That's the way Rossi reports and somehow still gets hits. Every GM won't rule out 95% of their players. However, their beat writers don't report it as such.

Orpik is needed on the Pens defense. We need gritty defenders.

Oh look, Rossi and his sensationalist gibberish that does nothing but cause internet arguing, panicking, and disappointment. Yet in the end it all makes absolutely no sense and holds no merit.

Isn't it cute? Oh wait...no it''s not. Same annual hyperbole spewed by this assclown.

Disregard.

I agree with you. This past season was a real eye opener. Where was the hunger? Where was his trademark bonecrushing physicality? Hell where was his defensive ability?

It's sad but the biggest thing I remember about his play this past year was him whining and arguing with a ref everytime he got a penalty.

Islanders have to add. He's worth more than a 2nd.

Grabner + 2nd for Michalek?

Rossi is a clown.
