Thanks for this thread. All seven CFL fans on this board appreciate it

I hope the Argos do well, I enjoy watching the double blue succeed (especially at the expense of Hamilton and Montreal). Not Grey Cup material, but then again, you never know with this league.

Is your username a reference to Jack Bionda? Just curious.

Let's see if Eric Tillman's plan to bring a Grey Cup to Toronto in the centennial year works.

Yes, it is. He played for Toronto, obviously.. but I know about him because of his reputation as one of the greatest Lacrosse players of all time.

Let me explain: He played on the New Westminster Salmonbellies with my grandfather, and I play lacrosse too so his story resonates.

One of the great multi-sport athletes, along with Lionel Conacher and Jim Thorpe.

BOMBERS' GARRETT SUFFERS SEASON-ENDING ACHILLES INJURY

http://www.tsn.ca/cfl/story/?id=399303

Quote:
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will have to defend their East Division title without tailback Chris Garrett.

The Bombers announced Tuesday the third-year player suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon in practice, falling to the turf after hauling in a pass.

TSN is really building up Toronto as Grey Cup threats, mainly due to acquiring Ray. Apparently they didn't watch him in the last 12 games of 2011. Hopefully he retains that fine form tonight and the Eskimos have their way with him.

Apparently, they also don't realize Ricky needs decent receivers and a good O-line to be effective..neither of which the Argos appear to have,

Funny to see the East go 0-4 on opening week, three of them blowouts, on the heels of TSN using the pre-season to pump up the east and claim the balance of power has shifted. It does look like they might be right about Toronto being the best in the East, their 4-point loss has them at the top of the standings

I wonder if we could see a west team crossover and then represent the east in the GC....that would be hilarous

Bionda's NHL career was news to me till just recently.

I'm actually a former Sr. A Bellie myself. 2 Minto rings to boot ;-)

Very excited for the this season, with the big changes in Calgary. So far I'm impressed after one game.

Video of the new Bomber stadium. Sucks that we have to wait another year to get in here, but this place is gonna rock in 2013!

http://bluebombers.com/video/index/id/75537

Best outdoor stadium in Canada next year.

Yeah the East is worse than ever. Toronto has not improved much despite the Ray acquisition, MTL continues to decline with Calvillo, Hamilton is just average once again, and my Bombers will be lucky to win 4 games this year.

BC is by far the class of this league. They will win 15-16 games this year and cruise to the Grey Cup. CGY will a healthy Tate MIGHT give them some pause, but nobody else is close. EDM is almost as bad as the East, and SSK is still one step down from those elite teams. Thing is, SSK is probably the 3rd best team, but won't be rewarded for that since the West is so strong .

Hamilton might win the East with a 9-9 record. I just don't believe MTL is that good this year, their D is not very good and the O has lost too many weapons. But TOR and WPG will be far back of the pack, they will not even compete for playoffs, even only one read, quick release Ray will not save them by any means.

The East started strong last season before fading, so it's way too early to be calling one division better than the other.

Tillman needs to be fired. Edmonton will be lucky to win 5 games this year.

Tillman is ridiculous publically stating he regrets trading Ray when the team is 1-1 . That should be good for Jyles ego
