that's posturing. you simply don't bank on something happening 12-months from now. Even if Jordan and Eric have a pact, there are so many other random things that can happen over a year.

So Staal has pretty much forced Shero's hand to trade him to Carolina..... or wait until his deal expires so he can hit free agency.

Staal 1
Shero 0

Yes! Dupuis' career year was better than Kulemin's (and he didn't played on the PP at all). Dupuis is more consistent offensively. Dupuis is an agressive forechecker and an elite PKer. Plus he costs 1,8M$ which is about the same as Mister 30 points. I really like Dupuis and I'm sure Kulemin would be a pretty good bottom sixer for us, but I don't see why you guys would want him on the top 6, especially not after having complained about DUpuis playing with Sid for years!

I don't get the Kulemin love AT ALL! He was good with Geno years ago? Nice! Why wouldn't we acquire Dany Roussin and Marc-Antoine Pouliot? They were GREAT with Sid in 04-05*...

*: I'm not saying Kulemin is a comparable to these players. All I'm saying is that thinking a guy that struggled to produce year in and year out in the NHL shouldn't "excite" us because he had chemistry with Geno years ago.

Agreed. I think the Pens leaked things (Carolina offers etc.) to try to drive the price up and now Carolina is leaking things (Staal will be there's sooner than later etc.) trying to scare off other teams and drive the price down.

What a dick. I wonder if he'll try to contact Staal and ask him for a goal prediction in Carolina.

Staal to Toronto for some Tim Horton's and a Canadian flag?

Can we at least get something out of this?

Kulemin can do everything Duper can and more. With more size, better board play, better shot, more creativity with the puck and is just entering his prime.

I want him here. But I digress.

If we can't move Staal, I see our blue line getting a big shakeup to address our needs.

IMO that Minnesota deal is looking more probable now (given our connections there), as Burke might pull the plug on his pick too assuming he was ever willing and if this stuff about the 8th is true. Seto and Clutterbuck for Staal? At this point that's looking primo. Anything to keep him away from Carolina (again if this buzz we're hearing is true). If they think they're getting him next summer latest and they want to keep their pick then ****ing keep it.

After Staal pulled what, exactly? Man, I just don't understand how anyone can think negatively of Staal at this point.

Not a chance IMO.

We got guys like Sid and Geno who take a little less to help keep everyone in place. He clearly doesn't want to be here. I wouldn't let him start the year here but that's me

Come on, 10 year deal? Clearly doesn't want to be here. I like Jordan but he doesn't want to be here (long term) and we won't get **** for him during the season since he will be a UFA. So trade him now
