Bailey is horrid at faceoffs and horrid in general

No thanks
Never said itd be bailey straight up. Bailey was a former first round pick who definitely has potential and would be a good 2nd/3rd line center for you. Could really get back on his game playing with talent in CHI.

And you were dead on about the faceoffs, eww 43%.

How much better has he gotten in Chicago?
Remember when he would fly down the ice with the puck... and then fumble it and lose any momentum or opportunity that he made with his speed? Well, he's fixed that... sort of. It's like he took a stickhandling class and now he can actually handle the puck like an NHL player. And he's actually shooting the puck now.

So, go back to his Toronto days... and think of how much better he would be without those mind-numbing errors....

Whatever happened to BWC not completely hating Stalberg? I thought that issue was buried during the regular season?

Stalberg is close to Dubinsky value wise, I'd wager they're even at this point when you put their contracts in context. No way we'd have to throw in Hammer, maybe a pick...but not a top 4 d-man.

I advocated trading him already because of his higher value after his decent year

I'd take Stalberg if we have to trade Voracek or JVR.

With Bergevin having probably a good idea of players from the Blackhawks I could see the Habs interested based on his size and wheels.

Bergevin probably has some players he liked on the Hawks.

And Hjalmarsson makes $3.5M and is another left handed, shutdown d-man that we don't need. Stalberg has had one decent season in the NHL and is the same age as Dubinsky, yet he provides none of the versatility or grit that Dubinsky does. Not to mention:

Quote:
Streaky player still has major issues defensively and will be UFA in a summer
So a redundant piece, and a the guy you just described for a player who is gritty, versatile, and fits our system perfectly? Not sure I see any incentive for the Rangers here. Dubinsky is being shopped to fill a need, not to add depth at a position where our depth is fine.

Montreal is looking for a speedy left winger to play with gionta and plekanec, .... Bergevin used to work in chicago, this could be a pretty obvious option

That seems like bit of an hyperbole. Stalberg has a lot of value and he's not really a bad player at all.

No way in hell

We had Bourque already and wouldn't want him back

He is also overpaid and the style of play will not be good for his body in longrun
