Isn't "The Klotz" what you get after sleeping with one of Carter's groupies?

This should be titled Offseason with a Vengeance.

Very upset at this hideous oversight.

I was going to start a whole different thread, but I figured it would get merged here anyway, but do we really think Shelley is going to be here next season or what? AHL? Retire? Anything? Come on.

Also Sam Carchidi just said Bob didn't like it in Philly on 610.

well cause of the bryz situation, how could u blame him. No young goalie wants to be a backup behind a 9 year contract.

Oh no doubt. I was just saying it because I think that makes the deal that much better. Usually you don't get what you want trading an unhappy player that doesn't want to be here.

Shelley will be the same as last year. Occasional call up for certain games that might need enforcing in or a series of injuries.

I expect he sees less than 15 games played in the NHL.

As for Bob, it's easy to understand why Bob would hate it in Philly. All he can see is the problems and boo'ing of goaltenders. He got thrust into one of the worst situations in the NHL too young and performed admirably.

Honestly, I can't imagine any goaltender wanting to play here right now. We need someone to erase the montra of the Flyers goaltending over the last 15 years, then others will get a more reasonable welcome. The same thing happened for the Phillies... players wanted to come here after the 2008 team caused the fans to chill out a little bit.

Ill say this. If we knew we wanted to sign bryz, then we should have traded BOB before that. When we signed him his trade value went down, and after this season it went down further.

I Thought bob's value was as high if not higher than Varlarmov. Now we are salvaging a 2nd and two 4ths. Ill take it but planning ahead would have helped more.

The reason the deal was good is because Bob deserved the opportunity to play. He was never going to get better playing 10-15 games a year. He needs at least an even split.

Sam Cardachi also said the chances we move up to the top ten in the draft are "slim"

I think the chances are pretty good, I think we are planning to unless of course, the guy we have in mind isn't there with the possible trading partner's pick

Varllamov's value has always been higher. He'd put up tremendous numbers at the NHL level before a series of different injuries.

Bob still has deficiencies in his game, was never a high profile prospect like Varlamov, had less games played at the NHL level, etc. We probably could have gotten a late first with the right team, but the value we got is hardly bad for where Bob is in development.

Now as the off season is getting started and the rumors are popping up more or less every minute, especially now before the draft, what are the most reliable sources around? I know nothing but little about the "reporters" like Eklund, Dreger etc. What source is the best to follow? Both from a Flyers perspective and in general.

I think the Flyers keep #20 and add a second first rd pick (#25 - #30) packaging their 2nd from CLB and another pick or player/prospect.

Flyers trade 2nd rd pick and Zolniercyk/Sestito/Holstrom to PHO or VAN for #26 or #27.

Flyers take Koekkoek or Skjei (#20) and Wilson (#26 or #27).

Koekoek will probably be gone in the 15th or so spot

All of the people pretty much just speculate - Dreger will break trades right before they happen...but otherwise, most things are rumors (not that they aren't true - but they are along the lines of this GM spoke to this GM about ____ - may not happen).
