You don't trade a player like PK Subban to move up two spots in the draft, even if it's for the 1st overall. This entire rumour is pure horse****. Would have to be Subban/3rd for 1st+++
The problem I have with Pk is that im biased has hell. 76 vs anybody and I would be mad. Difference between us, fan and GMs, they cant afford to fall in love with player.

2- If we are quietly shopping him, we've failed because there is nothing quiet about a Kyper tweet.

In regards with this rumor, I doubt that Bergevin is going to move on really important players like Subban, Patch, Price, DD, Plek and Cole in his first off season before he GMs them for even one season. Only way that happens is if we get an offer we can't pass up. 3rd overall + subban for 1st overall in a year where there's not a huge difference between 1st and 10th ? No way. Bergevin is hopefully smarter than that. And if he is not, then I am going to go ahead and bet that one of the management guys he hired is and enough of a loud mouth to make his opinion known.
I can see it already subban in an other jersey coming to play vs montreal and owning us. Dont trade him....Our advantage in a few season should be our defensive depth trading him would be a set back imho.
But you know what will be the funniest part of this? All the people on HF boards (fans of other teams) who constantly talk about how terrible and overrated Subban is, will now all jump at the chance to make 50+ ridiculous proposals per day in the hope of seeing their team acquire him.

As much as I love having PK on the Habs I think that might be something to consider even if it creates a huge hole on the Habs defense.. Having Yakupov + Galchenyuk going forward for the next 10 years would look quite good IMO..
Bergy must feel he has enough "D" coming up that can take Subby's spot and he is probably trying to land Yaky and Galy.
That is the only thing that would make sense....any other scenario just doesn't compute. This is the only reason he would trade Subby. I would also bet that the leak Kipper has is in Edmonton and not Mtl. Then again perhaps it was purposely leaked to see what other teams may offer? If so that is just brilliant and a change from the Goat era.
