Habs are perfectly content with taking the long-awaited big first line centre and, in any case, moving up two spots wouldn't cost them Subban.

I'd love him here, though.

I'll bet nothing happens, but a deal built around Subban for the 1st overall pick is interesting. I think Montreal needs to add, maybe Tinordi or Beaulieu, but this deal could make some sense. Habs take Yakupov and Galchenyuk with the 1st and 3rd overall picks, for years people have been talking about their lack of star power among their forwards, this would fix that. However, losing Subban would leave them with a huge hole on d. Not really sure what to think.

I'd do Subban + Beaulieu for 1st overall.

Montreal keeps the Sarnia connection

Edmonton immediately upgrades their blue line. It's a win - win.

The logical fallacy in the combining statements is that everyone on the team is tradeable, although that is the general case

Didn't Bergevin say in his speach after being hired that Price and Subban were the pieces he would be building on? I doubt he trades one of his two building blocks before ever seeing him in game action.

If Kypreos is tweeting it, it can't be all that "quietly" anymore now can it?

There is a difference between shopping and proposing a trade to 1 team.

(e.g. Joe Thornton was not being shopped when he was traded to San Jose)

If they could find a way to get Yak and gally, it would be worth it.

The whole (flawed) theory behind trading Subban is that he can be replaced by Tinordi and Beaulieu. No way we would ever trade one of them with PK.

Kypreos has proven in segments himself that on Draft Day and July 1st all he cares about is breaking stories. 90% of them are ********.

If Oilers can get Subban, they may have to send a Petry or Smid Montreal's way, and perhaps 32nd pick as well.

PK for Edmonton's 1st so Montreal can troll us all by getting both Yakupov and Galchenyuk

Maybe the value is OK, but I don't think MTL would do this... Tinordi and Ellis are too far behind when compared to a Subban/Beaulieu duo.

We have good prospects on D but that would be trading our #1 prospect + #1.5 (depending on Markov) 23 y.o. QB.

Things would be different if we didn't give McDonaugh away for Old El Paso Gomez.

No, Habs fans would rage.

It's all nonsense. Subban is a core player already at a very young age. He won't get traded.

No offense, but nobody should be able to convince you that he's a 5/6 guy with flash. He's already so much more than that.

Once again, this rumour started because someone (McGuire?) said NJ is interested in Subban and then corrected himself later to say Malcolm.

Also I find it ironic the amount of hate PK gets on here but now everyone wants him on their team....says something.

Plus, it would be absolutely retarded to trade away our brightest young player at this point in time (or any point) unless we get a superstar forward back.
