Not sure what the Islanders would return, maybe Josh Bailey as a potential future 2C for Chicago. The other benefit being swallowing the cap hit.
Bailey is not a good C

He is horrendous on faceoffs and is basically a bust at this point

His future (if he has one) will be at LW in NHL not at C

Would be down with trading Hammer + Stalberg for 4th overall ,, But I dont expect Snow to do something like that

Kyle Okposo for Viktor Stalberg or Niklas Hjalarsson?

Thoughts?

Okposo has sturggled at times in NY ,, Fits what Hawks are looking for in there top 6 F

Hammer fits what Isles need in there top 4 D or maybe they would be interested in Stalberg (Who is much cheaper then Okoposo)

Would something around Stalberg and MacArthur work?

Mac plays well in a top six role and is generally good for twenty goals a season. Plus he's a very good playmaker (his assist total was down this year because Kulemin's year-long slump). Toronto needs some grit to their bottom six and want to make space in the top six for Frattin/Kadri.

If you're looking for grit, Stalberg probably isn't your go-to guy. He's big... and he SHOULD be very physical... but he's not.

He plays the game like Marian Hossa minus the awesome defensive awareness, incredible shot and on-ice vision. But he has more speed....

Nope MacArhtur is not a top 6 talent ,, He overachieved on bad Leafs team in 2010-11

5th to balance for the uncertainty.
I'm sorry but since when is Linus Omark a powerforward lol?

Toronto is the last team that should be interested in Stalberg.

Isn't our forward group already soft and defensively inept enough?

Toronto needs top end talent at forward specifically at center not another soft winger to take playing time away from young incoming player like Frattin and Kadri.

Usually when Stan pulls the trigger, the gun is aimed at the indian head.

Yep just like when he dumped Barker for Leddy and Johnsson
Or when he suckered the Caps into a 1st for Brouwer
Or when he got Hayes for a 2nd (Good deal for both sides)
Or when he got great value for Byfuglien and a bunch of junk
Or when he got rid of that god awful Campbell contract

Outside of the Oduya trade he hasn't done bad at all on trade front. The Ladd trade he got the value of what Ladd (09-10 Ladd) was worth

Not good in hindsight but he had to be moved and a 2nd + prospect was his value

he is most definitely a top 6 forward. He didnt over achieve. Kulemin had a terrible year in the scoring department. That is why there is a slight drop off on his assist totals. His goal totals were better than 2010-11...

43 points in 73 games with on a line with a winger that scored 7 goals...

Obviously. I've heard mixed things about his time in Chicago. I've been under the impression that he's improved greatly since leaving - I guess I'm wrong.

Also MacArthur is most certainly a top-six forward, his problem is that that's the only spot where he's able to produce. We tried him in the bottom six once - didn't work.

Stalberg has improved greatly. The guy just scored hit the 20-20 mark with 0 PP time and playing 14 minutes a game. He was all over the lineup as well...played on every line. He's good on the fore-check (for obvious reason), he back-checks hard as well. He gets lost in the defensive zone sometimes, but he isn't as horrible as some people make it seem.

Look at who Stalberg gets to play with in Chicago and that should tell you why he has looked better.

CMac hopefully isn't a Leaf by the end of the year because Kadri has taken his place as a secondary power play option and scoring player. Neither player kills penalties (or will be anytime soon if ever) or can be used in a matchup shutdown role and there is only so many powerplay minutes and offensive 5 on 5 minutes to go around. Kadri is also cheaper.

He disappeared in playoffs and got sent back to 4th line

His value will never be higher ,, Move him now

Is he a hard worker ?

Bergevin knows him. Therrien wants hard workers and habs seem to like big player who can fly. Stalberg has some great speed.

What does Chicago expect? Washington would love another big forward who can score.

I cant bash Stalberg's effot

One of the few things I dont find a problem with is his attitude/work ethic

He could be a good fit on the third line with the Bruins.

Stalberg-Kelly-Peverley

Caron straight up, or would Bos have to add?
