Minnesota trying to move up?

Illegal Curve Hockey
‏@IllegalCurve
A little insider info, Wild may try to trade up from 7 to get an impact prospect. Eyeing the #4 pick. ‪#2012NHLDraft‬

Speculation is that NYI was looking at a dman. Wonder if gilbert is in play to move up.

I think NYI are the most likely to move down of the top 5. I can see the Leafs getting shafted.

I hope they aren't stupid enough to move Spurgeon or a prospect. If it's Scandella then meh

If the rumors suggesting that TT is the guy the Habs want are legit, how about :

3rd overall for 7th overall and Zach Phillips?

Hahahahahahahahahahahaha no !

Would shock me to see them move a prospect to move up... Likely a roster player... If they trade up it's likely for a D..

WHAT? i'm not high on either, but I'd keep Scandella over spurgie any day.
No to moving Phillips to jump three places, too. I think he's underrated and really want him to develop here. But if we do move a prospect it's going to be him, Zucker, or Bulmer probably.

Fletcher just had conversations on draft floor with Winnipeg, which selects 2 back, and Toronto, which selects 2 ahead.

This may shock you as much as it saddens us, but Gilbert is our best defenseman. I really doubt he's in play unless we have something in the works for a replacement.

I agree. I can see them doing this year the same thing they did when they had #5 overall and traded down twice and took Josh Bailey (I think that was who they took).

I dont think they can get the shaft at 5. Whats the worst case scenario at #5, Forsberg, Galchenyuk, Murray, Grigorenko or Terevainen? Looks good to me.

As for the Wild moving up they must have a sense they're guy will be gone but the consensus is that there is no consensus so they must be looking at 1-2.

If the Islanders are going to take a defenseman and Murray is off the board I am all for moving down. At 7 they might be able to draft Reinhart or Reilly.

Minnesota moving Gilbert just after acquiring him? Nah, I don't believe that.

Who are they trying to get with trading up? Murray might not be available at 4 anymore and they would need D badly. TOP 4 doesn't probably have any D other than Murray.

Yes you are haha ! In all seriousness, unless I was just lied to, they won't move up at the cost of a prospect, they highly covet the ones they have.

I'd definitely be for a trade up. If the Isles are set on drafting a defensemen, a move down to #7 seems reasonable.

All we had to do was offer Spurgeon a contract

Pretty sure we were at or extremely close to the contract limit when we had to sign Spurgeon.

I could see something like 7th + Clutterbuck to move up to 4, along with getting a 2nd back, possibly?

Not sure where the Isles are at in the second round though. I'd love to be able to snag Jordan Schmaltz and Jake McCabe in the 2nd.
