Where are Leaf fans that were confident he was dropping to 5th? lol. Now watch them do a complete 180 on Galy.

Congrats Habs fans.

Awesome. Excited about this kid.

Makes that season worth it. Looking forward to seeing what Galchenyuk brings to training camp in the Fall, though I sincerely doubt he's with the team for the season.

9 game stint wouldn't surprise me at all though.

This was honestly the worst year for hockey ever. But tonight, just made up for it.

Love the pick. Everything I have seen and heard about this kid is about wanting to be a hockey player and making a difference. Nice to get size and a center, but above all impact level skill. He's been compared to Getzlaf, Backstrom and Toews, that's some pretty nice company.

So ****ing happy right now for the Habs. Awesome pick!

It may be a weak draft, but we got to pick the #1 center in it. Personally, I hope that Gally having basically missed the entire season allowed him to be a steal at #3, not a reach.

It's a gamble, but it sure feels like the right one. Now let's all BE PATIENT with the kid.

Anyone know where we can see updated info about height & weight?

TSN is often really out of date.
Has him at 6'1, 198lbs.

Bienvenue à Montréal ! Top end talent, what more can you ask ? He had the best scores at the combine. Galchenyuk will be a stepping stone for years to come.

As of now, what about a Gally-Pleks-Gio line ?
