I'm listening to the online stream and they keep gushing how well Ribs will fit in with Was, and I'm just not so sure he will. Does Was. no longer do the run and gun thing (I haven't watched them much of late).
I don't have any probs with this move, they are doing what they said they would do and that is getting younger and picking up someone with some potential.

Joe has NO negotiating skills. trades away our good players for the bare minimum.

No one's sure, they don't have a coach ATM.

At worst Eakin will be Stajan. At best he'll be a 60-65 point center with a great two way game.

Well we have another 12 or so years before that's even remotely possibly so plenty of time to screw things up some more.

Does any GM in the league respect Joe? They always bend him over during trade negotiations. Maybe they can use a couple of those 2nd rounders to trade up.

Whatever I give up.
This is the first trade Nieuwendyk's made in a while that I actually like.

Eakin was the safe choice, IMO.
It's just the pick that pisses me off.

Yes, I wish it was a first, but there's no way we would have gotten it w/o sacrificing a pick or other player to get there.

Its interesting that after years of people telling us the Ribs is worth nothing on the trade forum he is now the steal of the day.

I want to ask how much cash you guys think a 1st round pick is worth. Because if they sign a guy like Zach Parise or Ryan Suter or Alexander Semin you guys are going to be changing that tune.

Sure that could make up for it, but as of right now it's terrible. Thing is I don't think anyone here is expecting to get anyone of those guys.

The free agent that goes after a ton of money. Gaglardi can probably outbid all the other teams with all the capspace available.

Can anyone give me an estimate on our capspace at the moment?
