Ribeiro was likely traded to the East for a reason...

I will conclude my Poile play-by-play by saying he's back on his side of the table. Doesn't look like he's on the phone.

This is the first time I have really watched the NHL draft, and much like the NFL draft, I am waiting for trades.

J. Staal to Canes for 8th overall, Brandon Sutter, and Brian Dumoulin. Great haul for the Pens.

I am pretty surprised they got that much for him with only 1 year left on his contract, but I guess they feel pretty confident about re-signing him with Eric there.

Losing Staal also does't detract significantly from his team's ability to contend.

I think the 'Canes are pretty confident that they will extend Jordan because he wants to play with Eric.

Exactly. Unlike us with Suter/Weber. Not really a comparable situation.

Wilson+ could probably get it done. Or Ellis.

Remember, Boston apparently agreed to Ellis for the 9th if Couturier fell last year.

The Jets wont trade the pick, but It'd be nice to see something like Wilson+ for Forsberg.

Agreed. Closest thing is Ellis, but I don't see him getting us near the top 10, heck maybe not even the top 20

I'd rather have Wilson. Not sure why you want to get into this draft so bad. It's not a special draft class.

Haha no wonder Poile traded the first for Goose. He figured all of the D prospects would be selected by the time he got to pick
