As I already said, Dumba will line up perfectly next to Brodin. The perfect mix of risk and physicality to go with Brodin's smooth skating, perfect positioning play.

On the other hand, I'm happy that we got Dumba but we should've traded down, really. Let's see what GMCF has to come in trade department... I think we'll see Clutterbuck moved, maybe? Or Brodziak, after a career year... Hmm.

If you wanted a prospect with the highest upside available, Dumba is your pick. (Or Grigorenko, but Dumba is just as high)

I would not mind seeing Clutterbuck moved tonight for another good pick. There are still so many good choices on the board still.

Just really should have traded down... especially with the Pens trading for the #8 and going crazy with that pick.

A rundown on Matt Dumba

Possibly one of the best hitters in the draft
Possibly one of the best shooters in the draft
Possibly one of the best skater in the draft

I like how Habs fans said he looks like a Subban clone.

For those who are disappointed, I remember the same thing has been said for Granlund and Brodin.

I guess you're still disappointed about those guys.

Probably will take while to remember that it's Mathew, not Matthew...

But seriously, I like this pick, though wouldn't have been my 1st choice...

This,

IMO he's something the team has never had... He's better defensively then Burns at the same age.

We needed a guy like this in case we didn't get Suter. IMO his competitiveness will make him an AllStar.

If we can't sign Suter.....does Dumba have a shot at making the squad???

He is, although I think Subban is a little bigger than him, and while I think Dumba has the same mean streak, he doesn't have the same arrogant attitude.

Seriously, instead lets just keep picking weak defensemen who can't control traffic in front of the net. This was a good pick for us.

Very very long shot I'd say. He did bulk up by the combine, and was slightly taller than reported, but he's still a little undersized for his physical game.

I wouldn't say he has no chance, but odds are still against him.

The way it was shaking down.. I wanted to see a trade down. We could have gotten Grigorenko and Ceci probably had we done that. But Dumba is a good player. My only concern is that he's undersized. Really wish we would've traded down.

Took me 2 failures at hockeydb earlier in the year to remember.
