PITTSBURGH - Bobby Ryan spent much of his Friday playing 90 holes of golf in a charity event near his summer home in Victor, Idaho, but that didn’t prevent the Cherry Hill native and Anaheim Ducks star to escape the latest round of trade rumors.
“I've gotten wind of everything,” Ryan said by phone between his fourth and fifth rounds.
Through a phone conversation a night earlier with his agent, Don Meehan, plus non-stopping texts from family and friends forwarding the latest, Ryan learned that the Flyers are among four teams involved in trade talks with the Ducks.
Frustrated with Ducks management, the 25-year-old left wing suggested he's up for a trade anywhere and that the Flyers would be his first choice.
“I heard Anaheim was a little overwhelmed with offers and they only took four seriously, but none of the teams were mentioned to me other than Philly,” Ryan said. “Everybody wants to play in your hometown, but it would be tough because a lot of expectations come when you're put into a situation like that. For me, if I'm moved, Philadelphia would be a very ideal and comfortable place for me.”
I liked this quote from Ryan's dad "“In my mind, the Flyers are the best that there is,” Bob Ryan said. “But I just want to see him happy. The only place he can't go is the Rangers. I'd never hear the end of it from Clarkie.”
Wonder if a combination of the follow Briere, Read, Mezaros, 1st, 2nd would be enough to entice them.
If Ryan is blasting the Ducks this much, I would say his value is lower, considering the management would just want to get rid of him more now than before.

Except the Rangers are still interested--and if they are willing to part with Stepan, it gets a little tricky for us to get him without giving up Schenn.

I like the idea of getting Ryan, but the first priority has to be D and I'm not sure they can make a deal for say Yandle and also give up assets for Ryan. Could they do a deal around JvR/Mez for Ryan? Then that still leaves the possibility of Schenn & pieces for Yandle...
"The Flyers are also talking to Anaheim about Bobby Ryan but the price - Brayden Schenn or Sean Couturier plus James van Riemsdyk is high. There are some in the organization that would do this deal but right, Schenn and Couturier are not available."
Couturier plus JVR? nooooooo thank you

Quote:
"Talked to two sources here at the NHL Draft tonight and they both said the Flyers are very much in the mix to get into the Keith Yandle sweeps - if Phoenix moves him."

Do they really think Ryan is worth that much when he DOESN'T WANT TO PLAY ON YOUR TEAM?
Have you not paid attention to how poorly Anaheim has treated Bobby Ryan?
The organization has been yanking him around for years, throwing his name in trade rumors for years. I don't care who you are, that is gonna take a toll on you.

So basically they keep putting him up on the market, always want too much, pulling him around like crazy and still ask for too much or they would like to keep a player that doesn't want to play for the Ducks? That's ****ed up.
