Stolly took a pay cut for sure could have a easily got 4+ on the open market, plays the best hockey when it matters the most, terrific signing by the Kings.

Can't complain with that price, considering teams would have offered him more. Really happy with this signing.

Surprised to see people saying Stoll could get $4M on the open market. I just don't see that. He signed a fair contract IMO.

Did you see what Leino got last off-season?

I agree. 3 mil seems like a fair amount of cash for him.

You have to consider how weak the ufa list is. Stoll would have gotten a lot more because I'm sure NUMEROUS teams would have been bidding for him.

Not like it matters. Kings keep him at a solid price and the fans are happy. I hope Penner is the next guy to take a paycut.

Great deals considering how much the cap is expected to rise.

the 1.65M x 2 years I believe is the total because if u multiply .825 x 2 it equals 1.65

Didn't Fraser make that on his last contract? Surprised he didn't ask for a raise since now he has a 2nd cup.

Good re-signing for Fraser too. Both are good deals.

Even if King gets up to 1.5, to ice the same team as last year other then Penner, including benchwarmers Drewiske, Richardson and Westie we have approx 59.5 invested. Get rid of Richardson and its even better.

Stoll is an elite #3 C, decent #2 C too if necessary (i.e. if Kopitar or Richards miss time with injuries). $3.1 mil per year for 3 years is a very reasonable price for him, I could easily have seen him going for more like $3.5 mil per year for 5 years as a UFA. Nice signing for the Kings.

Because points are everything.

It does if you're in NY, apparently. And if Boyle put in half the effort and grit that Stoll does for the Kings, they would've never traded him to the Rangers to begin with.

It was mentioned somewhere recently that Boyle's family asked Lombardi to trade him to the East Coast.

Love both deals. With Stoll you're not paying for points, you're paying for puck posession off the draw and physical play. He's slotted in right where he belongs on the Kings - literally a perfect fit.

It's $3.25 per. $9.75 for three years.

Blame Fantasy Hockey for this.

These same guys think Kopitar is not in the top 10 for Centers because he doesn't put up ridiculous pt totals.

No one ever considers the defensive side of the game.

Stoll is a great signing. He got better and better as the playoffs went on, and that's hard to find anywhere in the NHL.
