Everyone on the HFBoards knows more than any GM, scout or player, so those moves made against one person's belief are automatically the worst move ever made and ground for firing/waiving.
There's nothing wrong with sharing an opinion. Granted, none of us meet the qualifications for an NHL level management job, we all have our own ideas about how an NHL team should be built.
I, for one, believe in waiting for the next gretzkid to appear and tanking hard for several years to secure him. A lockout would help with finances.
I'd want to shoot myself too if I was on the Leafs board . . . no, I'm just joking. Yeah, it's pretty high here too. But you have to realize one important factor. Everyone on the HFBoards knows more than any GM, scout or player, so those moves made against one person's belief are automatically the worst move ever made and ground for firing/waiving.
It's nice to have such a large group of experts in one place.
[QUOTE=glovesave_35;26631520]Feeding optimism is one thing, but at the risk of rehashing a past debate I still contend there is no reason to act like we're retarded, which I personally feel is what he/they are doing when they tell us that they feel like 2010-11 is Stanley Cup or bust.

Im fine with them saying that 2010-2011 is Stanley Cup or bust, that way, when we dont make it, we have an excuse to fire joe and mark.
You know, even with him letting go of Mo (my views on that are quite clear), the draft, and with the recent signings, I still have faith in him. As piqued said, at least he's gutsy. He's doing the things that he feels are right, and who knows, maybe they are, maybe they aren't. Time will tell.
Crawford being worse than Tippett isn't an "opinion." It's a FACT.
Based on what ...... your cute little grudge against the current management of the team.
I'm not a fan of either, but coaches are judged on results.
Tip amassed yet another first round playoff exit. Crow has a Stanley Cup. BTW, GM Joe is also a three time Stanley Cup winner.
I know some people think because they can mash keys and press submit that they're smarter than these people, but one day you'll wake up from Fantasyland.
Still amazed that people don't wait to see how a trade plays out before they go off wanting someone fired. Dallas traded from a position of strength to get something they have needed for 3 years. Dallas has Benn who can instantly take Neal’s place, and Dallas also ends up getting a good PMD that they’ve sorely needed.
Last year everyone was complaining about trading for Kari lehtonen and giving away Ivan vishnevskiy that trade has worked out pretty darn good. I really think the most recent trade will end up being just like the lehtonen trade a lot of people upset at first but then come around liking the trade as it ends up an obvious good trade.
I thought Goli looked good for his first game with the team and not having any experience playing with any of the players before. Once they all get familiar with each other I think he’s going to be really good.
I understand people like to vent but I really think GM Joe is doing a real good job here. He got the team a number one goalie for basically a 4th round draft pick, he picked up an outspoken guy that has changed the quiet locker room and is also a decent pker in burish.
Just got the team the PMD the team has needed since Zubov left for Neal who has been replaced by Benn. I would think more people would be excited to see Benn play his natural position, one which I can’t remember him ever playing in Dallas as a left wing.
You can make a point about his 1st round drafting but he’s said that he leaves it up to the scouting staff.. I’ll admit the day of the draft I kept seeing fowler drop and was thinking there’s no way Dallas gets a chance to take him, then when Dallas was up I was like hell yeah Dallas drafts Fowler only to here Campbell.
I think Glennie will end up a 20 goal second line guy but not sure on Campbell just hope he doesn’t become the next Al Montoya.
As far as the trade deadline goes though I wouldn't expect anything else to happen, unless it some minor trade for depth.
1) He can't manage assets. I understand trading Ribeiro but we would have had double that return at the trade deadline. And after seeing the Staal trade, we should have at least had the 11th and Eakin. Forsberg and Eakin would have been a fantastic return.
2) He is building a team of third liners. We have 3 legitimate top 6 players left now. When you have dead weight in Morrow and Robidas, trading one of your top 6 guys that consistently put up points on an average offensive team is mind-boggling

At the trade deadline you sure as hell don't trade Ribeiro because we still had a shot. Don't be so short-sighted.
