Lazy comparison....
Subban and Kronwall are the only current NHLers who can really be used as comparisons for Dumba.

I can buy Subban...but the only way Belle gets brought up is because of skin color.

still would have preferred Trouba. I don't think dumba is going to have the mass/frame to keep people from crowding our goalies. But he's got more offense, so...tradeoff. Should be good with either Brodin or Scandella.

He will, he needs to get bigger.

Well maybe Phaneuf roo. Hopefully he is a little more accurate with his howitzer.

WTH?! CNBC cutting off draft coverage for American Greed?! My Comcast schedule gives us another 30 minutes of NHL draft coverage. FU CNBC!!

He was in our organization for years, was once considered a good prospect who played on Canada's great 2005 WJC team. Dumba's a boom/bust guy, you have your "booms"(Subban), you have your "busts"(Belle).

I disagree. He won't have the frame but by the time he reaches the NHL, he'll be a nicely packed 200lbs in a 6-0 frame. Thats called a truck.

He's taller than Clutterbuck, and will likely end up weighing more than him when he's done.

Yeah, Dumba's not going to have a "strength" problem, but the height is still a concern.

Shawn Belle wasn't nearly as highly thought of as Dumba coming into the draft.....In fact, there are more than a few that think Dumba might have the highest upside of any defensemen being selected....oh and Belle was only in our system for a little over 2 years.

No big deal....I get just as annoyed as when every white point guard gets compared to Steve Nash or John Stockton...Or every white wide receiver gets compared to Don Beebe or Steve Largent.

Dumba is one of the four guys i'd have been ok with. i kind of suspected fletcher/flahr were going to do another brodin and grab lindholm. Dumba is more than fine.

Shawn Belle was a higher draft pick than PK Subban, and Belle came out of the legendary 2003 class.

30th overall is far from 7, though. Can't really compare.

Every white football player has a high motor. I get that.

Agreed, but I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. At least we didn't pull a 2007 draft day move to trade up for a future Columbus grinder. Sorry for being a crappy Irishman and being a glass half full guy.

Was that lady hanging with Paris Hilton and Britney Spears before that pic was take Victorious? She looks baked.

Dude, admit it....If Matt Dumba was white, you never would've compared him to Shawn Belle.

It's not that big of a deal, lots of people make those comparisons based on skin color.

Yea. Isles better not do that.

Sorry to say, but you almost have to when there are so few of them in the NHL. Not saying they are worse, I'm not ever going to say that.
