You could tell the team was not prepared to have to decide on Forsberg.
Who were the 4, left to right, McPhee Maloney.. ? ?
Random guess, maybe one was Fishman.
I don't feel like Dale chose Wilson. TSN had him at 18.
Fishman wasn't there. He's not involved in hockey decisions at all, I'm 95% sure. I forget what his title is, but he's an "assistant GM" who handles the salary cap. Brian MacLellan is the hockey-related assistant GM, I think.
It doesn't matter whose scouts you compare. At this point in the draft the difference between players is slim and there is bound to be disagreement between your scouts over the player rankings. I highly doubt that Tom Wilson was the consensus best player by the caps scouts. I could be wrong, because all we will ever hear from GMGM is that he was "the guy we wanted" (which is what every GM says).

IIRC:
McPhee, Weiderstal, Kucera, Mahoney
Consistent with what Langway posted earlier, looks like they were debating Forsberg vs Faksa (or at least appeared to be debating Forsberg vs someone else from overseas)

Of course he wasn't the consensus best player but he was the highest ranked player on their board. They don't have a group of say 5 guys ranked equally and then say, 'hey what is our organizational need?' They rank them all and rank one over the other for a reason and it is never what position they play.
Drafting 17-18 year old hockey players is in no way the same as drafing 21-22 year old football players.
